[Question #7703] Exposure

I am an immune compromised 51 y o woman w CIDP post GBS in 10/19. I have monthly IVIG. After a year separated, I resumed sex w my husband, TT 11/20. I had negative hsv 1&2 DNA tests 1/22/21 when treated for Covid. TT swears no infidelity in 2021 maybe longer. I have been faithful. We had unprotected sex 14x 11/1/20 - 2/12/21.

3/5/21 swab of sore confirmed I have genital herpes w initial outbreak.

TT vacationed solo in 2/21. Given my immune system, I believe TT would have infected me right away. How likely is it I was not exposed for months by TT? I do not trust TT

I can't know if you were infected by your husband or had infection prior to your first outbreak.  If you do an IgG antibody test now, and it is negative, this indicates first infection.  Virus present on the skin but not antibody has been made.  Was your swab test typed, HSV 1 or HSV 2?
