Hi guys, and thank you for your time. I have a new partner and we’ve been seeing each other for some time now. About two weeks ago, he gave me oral and I noticed a few days later that I was getting a mild yeast infection, so I took monistat. My vagina is sensitive and I seem to always get a YI after receiving oral. It seemed to clear up a bit and the itching went away. Then Last week, I came down with a sinus infection and was prescribed amoxicillin for 7 days. I started to feel better within a few days.
Come Monday (3/22), I noticed that the vaginal itching returned and thought I was coming down with another YI from the antibiotics. I did receive oral and had protected sex with a condom on 3/14 & 3/15 from my same partner. I noticed the vaginal itching was getting a little worse, so I went to the gyno yesterday (3/24). My gyno did a thorough exam and said that everything looked normal (no bumps, sores or lesions), but did say that my discharge definitely looked like a YI, so she cultured it & sent it off to test for the strain of yeast. She prescribed me diflucan and I took my first dose last night. After the appointment, I noticed that my vagina became more irritated and I woke up this morning with my perineum burning. I also noticed that sometimes when I pee, the inside of my labia minora feels like I have cuts. I just took a look down there but didn’t notice anything abnormal or alarming. My gyno also called me in nystatin, just in case the YI spreads externally. I am so scared this is herpes and am terrified to go to pee bc it sometimes burns & hurts. Please shed some light on the situation :(. I have HSV 1 orally and have had it since I was a kid. This exposure was 10 days ago.
Questions:
1.) Does this sound like HSV 2? I’m worried that the cut-like sensation is herpes.
2.) How common is it to contract HSV 2 from receiving oral?
3.) Should I be concerned?
4.) Is it common to get cuts or have cut-like sensations from a YI?

If you have had HSV 1 orally since childhood, it is extremely unlikely that you would get it genitally after having it all this time orally
You would not acquire HSV 2 from receiving oral sex, at least the chances would be something like 1 in a million
I don't think that you should be concerned
Certainly a bad yeast infection can cause things that look like cuts in the genital area, most certainly
