Hello again drs. I have another question. Earlier this week I asked about red spots.
Well I forgot to ask. That on the side of my penis. Where the skin pulls back. Where the bump is at. (Sorry for the wrong anatomical sight.) but there’s this small white dot. Now in light it looks white but might be wrong, anyways wanted to know if it is a pimple or something serious.  It’s small doesn’t hurt itch burn. Nor do I have symptoms.. i do masterbate everyday. And have sex with my gf. But I did have sex with csw all protected and some one night stands those were not....

Welcome back to the forum. On this occasion I will be answering your current question. I have reviewed all of your interactions with Dr. Handsfield yesterday and agree with him 100%.  From the sounds of things, you have recently been examining your penis more closely then you may have in the past. That appears to have led to your noticing the red spots that you described yesterday as well as white bumps near the head of your penis on the side.  I presume the bump is smooth surfaces   The bumps that you described in no way suggest an STI. Small cysts are common on and around the head of the penis as are benign papulosis (bumps) which are called pearly penile papules and which can be quite variable in size and number.

Without examining you I cannot be more specific. I am confident the lesion you describe is normal but if you feel that a specific diagnosis is important I would encourage you to see a dermatologist or other clinician who is experienced in examination of the genitalia.

I hope this response is helpful to you. As you know do you have up to two additional follow-up questions for clarification. EWH

Thank you again dr. Also what would you recommend for it to be removed? As in over the counter medicine? Also about two months ago I went to the er. I wasn’t feeling good and just to see if everything is good. They did blood work on me there. And everything was good. Now in the er when they are doing blood tests do they check for stds there too?

Without knowing what the lesion may be I would certainly recommend strongly against efforts to remove the bump you mentioned. My advice is, if concerns you, and I am doubtful that it should, seek the opinion of a trained healthcare provider such as a dermatologist.

There are a great number of blood test which can be performed for a variety of different purposes. If you were being evaluated for an STI, blood tests for some STI‘s such as HIV, Syphilis, or even herpes may have been performed. On the other hand if the clinician who saw you was not concerned or investigating the possibility of an STI blood tests for STI‘s would probably not be done.

I hope this is helpful EWH

If testing at the ED showed a problem that was not discussed during your visit, they would be obligated to notify you.

As you know, we provide up to three responses to each question.  This is my 3rd response.  Thus this completes this thread.  I hope that the information i have provided
Has been helpful.  Take care.  Please don’t worry. EWH
