[Question #7794] Scared why I’m sick after Handjobs

Hi Guys, last year I engaged at a massage parlor a Titjob in October and 3 handjobs during the period of November and December.
The titjob was unprotected but the handjobs she wore gloves and the last one I wore a condom.
During the last handjob I ejaculated prematurely as I was struggling to get the condom on before she touched me and it caused me some pain, she went on to touch me for around 10 seconds after.
At no point did my penis in all episodes come into contact with any of her private parts.
The next couple of days I went on to get some kind of Prostatis and Epydidimus.
My urine tests came back clear and my blood results normal too.
Reading all the comments on here I know everyone says it’s no risk, but nevertheless I have tested negative at 28 days, 9 weeks, 90 days, 98 days and 112 days all with 4th generation tests.
I’ve also done loads of Biosure rapid finger prick tests, last one at 108 days.
For the Prostatis I was put on Ciproflaxcin and Tamosulin the muscle relaxant, would these effect my tests?
After I have finished long courses of antibiotics nearly 3 months worth I have got Oral thrush and Acid reflux.
Terrible headaches and a swollen lymph node appeared under my armpit for two weeks.
I’ve been literally unwell for 4 months non stop, I just dunno what to think and have convinced myself it’s HIV.
I hear about people serconverting after 3 months and presume I’m one of those.
I really don’t know where to turn and I’m petrified what I have done, I’ve never slept with anyone apart from my wife and it was a stupid mistake to engage in these handjobs.
Should I do more testing?

does medication like antibiotics or alpha blockers effect Test results

Please can somebody give me some advice

Welcome to our forum and thanks for your questions. As you already know from reviewing material on the site, there are absolutely no data to suggest that receipt of masturbation, either by hand or with a partner’s breasts have ever been proven to result in acquisition of any sort of STI, including HIV.  Prostatitis which is sometimes misidentified as an STI but is not, can be a serious illness leading to chronic problems including burning on urination and pelvic or back pain. It would be most unusual for prostatitis to be causing swollen lymph nodes in other parts of the body or headache in the absence of high fever or other systemic signs.

Currently available tests for HIV are among the most reliable tests in all of medicine. Your repeated testing has unequivocably proven that you do not have HIV. Further testing and pursuit of HIV diagnosis is a waste of time and, perhaps more importantly, may be a distraction from searching for other causes.  Neither antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin nor tamsulosin have any affect on the reliability of HIV tests.  I urge you to believe your test results. There is no need for further testing.

Please note, I am not discounting your symptoms. Your prostatitis may have been coincidental and was certainly unrelated to your receipt of masturbation. Your current generalized illness including headache and now a swollen lymph node under your armpit warrants further evaluation with your regular physician. I would not worry however it is it is related in anyway to the sexual encounters you’ve described. I hope this perspective an assessment is helpful to you.  If any part of this reply is unclear, please feel free to use Europe to do follow ups for clarification. EWH

Thank you Dr Hook, since the event I have been diagnosed with Chronic pelvic pain syndrome, LPR reflux and oral thrush, there is also some very mild Diverticulosis disease, I am having a colonoscopy on Monday for further investigation.
It all seems so related to my exposure, after the hand job in question the day after I was sore and my ureathra was red, from there it all developed and I have been sick ever since, it’s like I injured myself being to rough trying to get erect and put the condom on, which in turn set of a chain of events.
3 months of antibiotics may have messed up my stomach too.
I’m sure my anxiety over Hiv has not helped but I just can’t believe my results.
Have you ever seen anyone test positive after 12 weeks?
My last test was at 16 weeks 4th Gen.
Is it possible my inflamed Prostatis could effect my stomach and reflux ?
I’m so confused and anxious, my mental state is very low and my life feels ruined.
Thank you again for your attention.

It certainly sounds like you have a lot of health issues going on. Focusing on your receipt of masturbation however is likely to be misleading. From the sounds of things you have a healthcare provider who is evaluating you comprehensively and that is a good thing.

On occasion well intended interventions lead to unexpected consequences. For instance taking antibiotics can predispose a person to both gastrointestinal upset and thrush.  Thus, some of what’s going on May be related to the the treatment of your prostatitis.

In answer to your question about HIV testing, I have never seen a person develop a positive test for HIV more than six weeks after exposure unless they were taking drugs specifically aimed for HIV treatment for prevention.  Thus you should be entirely confident in your HIV test results. Once again I urge you to focus your attention on other possible causes of your problems and to not worry about HIV.  EWH

Thank you Dr Hook, you have been very generous with your answers and time, I’m glad I purchased the ask an expert question.
I know repeating yourself must be very tedious so thank you, As my final reply and perhaps ease my Hiv fears  can I just ask if for some reason somebody did not produce antibodies would the P24 antigen always be present until that was produced?
And finally if it was Hiv that was causing my symptoms it would show on the test right?
Thank you again for you answers, I might finally be able to get some sleep, it’s been the very worst period of my life and I have been to some very dark places in my mind due to worry, anxiety and the most terrible stress, perhaps half of what I’m experiencing is due to that.
Regards
Dan

Thank you for your thanks. I hope these final replies will help to relieve some of your concerns.

When symptoms are present HIV antigen/antibody tests are always reactive. The fact that you have been repeatedly negative in the presence of symptoms assures you that your symptoms are not due to HIV.

If you did not produce antibodies you would be quite sick. Further if antibodies to HIV or not present, the P 24 antigen levels would be very high and the test would be reactive on that basis.

Please believe your test. As I’ve already said they are highly reliable. There is no scientific or medical reason for you to have any doubt whatsoever in your HIV test results related to the encounter you have described.

I hope that my comments in the information I have provided has been helpful to you. As you know with this third reply there will be no further answers and the thread will be closed shortly. Take care please do not worry about HIV. EWH

I’m struggling coming to terms with the fact that it’s not Hiv, I’m seeing a therapist to help me through.
My heart rate is very high when I wake up and I get some dizziness after.
Would you recommend me doing a PCR test so I can finally draw a line under this.
Thanks again

I’m sorry you continue to struggle with this. I’m pleased however that you are speaking with the counselor.  That is far more likely to be helpful than additional testing. There is no scientific or medical reasons that repeat testing using any method, including PCR, is necessary.  You have now been repeatedly and conclusively tested for antibodies as well as the virus itself (antigen) with negative results.  Testing for viral nucleic acid’s (PCR) will not show infection.

And as I said above, I am saddened that you continue to struggle with your fears. I have little more to offer on this forum however. Per forum guidelines, this thread will be closed shortly without further replies. I wish you the best. EWH
