[Question #7798] Irritation tingling under penis head, worried of hand job from masseuse

Hello Dr Warren,
You have reassured me several times on this aspect that whatever I am having as symptoms are not related to herpes.
Recap, sexual encounters 3 years ago with CSW protected, symptoms after 4 days itching tingling genital irritation, used corticosteroid creams and reduced, doctors found no sores except rash that is red and raw in perineum.
Igg and Western blot negative from UoW after six months. Continued to have itching and irritation but never subsided . The rawness subsided but returned after my vaccine shot, genital itching and irritation. Never took antivirals till date.
After COVID first shot I went for massage and the lady finished off with a hand massage, it took intense amount of time so she pressured that area for sure. 2 weeks later the rawness in perineum returns and doc swab Neg culture and pcr after 4 days both negative.
After second shot 9th Apt and 3 weeks after massage, I felt raw in penis area felt redness and irritation feeling under penis skin, I could feel something is trying break out but I don’t see blisters or cuts. Intact skin but redness and irritation and crawling..cracks seen but not broken skin, skin folds I guess

Haven’t swabbed on penis, have seen a post on WOH of someone after massage showed positive swab. I m perplexed.
1. Is hand massage safe? If so what could cause this irritation that last 3-4 days reduced with hydrocortisone but slightly swollen in that area and felt tender.
2. i m starting to think herpes is atypical in my case. Do u see it showing without outbreaks and with redness?
3.should I swab when tingling & Did I inoculate from perineum to penis?
4. Will masseuse have herp on fingers, and transfer during massage? Will baby oil kill herp virus?

Hand massage is totally safe if there is no genital to genital contact

Your western blot is negative. That should be the absolute final word on this subject

NO, your penis was not infected.
4. Will masseuse have herp on fingers, and transfer during massage? Will baby oil kill herp virus?
Baby oil does not kill herpes virus. I cannot say if the massage person had herpes on the skin but I doubt if she would do massage with a herpes outbreak on her hand as it is very painful. Beside, you have a negative western blot.
You don't have herpes but you might really benefit from talking to a cognitive behavioral therapist to try to work through these worries.

Hello Dr.Terri,
The reason why I spoke about my penis being infected is it felt irritated and I found redness and I could feeling the irritated feeling and pain radiating on the penis head briefly and felt tender for few days.
Did u see my pics pls?
1. I remember that you have seen herpes showing just as irritation sometimes, what causes incomplete outbreaks?
2. How does an an aborted outbreak look under penis head or sides. How many days does this last it lasted 2-3 days for me the tenderness and irritation and reduced eventually. Two days before this soreness I masturbated few times sry without lubricant, can masturbation usually trigger ant issues including herpes (just in case of anyone not for me alone).
3. When I got the Culture swab my genitals were red and raw but I had tricloroamcinalone acetonide on that area, the doctor swabbed without cleaning it. Do you think that would have interfered with result?
4. Usually herpes intensity should increase with such oientment right? If so culture would not have picked up on the surface rubbing right? 4 days after the redness came I swabbed of PCr and was negative..
5. I have seen posts where they swabbed positive even with redness on your Woverheights forum. Do you see these abnormal cases swabbing positive anytime?
6. With redness and itching and tingling. Can I have sex with my wife as the redness under my penis returns sometimes.
7. What do u call a sore vs blister? Red or sore area is called sore or it should be a bump under penis?
8. Are these issues more common with people who slept with CSWs??? How many blots have u done so far I assume 2000 at the minimum? 11/2000 is 0.55% tested positive via swab right?
9. Have all the WBs validated via Swab initially at UoW?
10. Can I have sex with my wife here after?
Sorry for my questions..
Btw what is going on with WoHeights forum and why can’t I access it if I am connected to home internet? It’s weird?

You do not have genital herpes. You have a negative western blot. I'm sorry but I am not going to continue to answer these anxiety driven questions.
