[Question #7825] anxiety about warts!

Dear Doctors
So recently(around a year ago) I went to south east asia and got protected oral from a sex worker. I thought nothing of it but just today, I noticed on the left side of my penis shaft there were a lot of tiny bumps which kind of just look like enlarged glands. (There are bumps in the shaft area of my penis and there are more all the way up to the frenulum) If I had to guess around how many, I would say ~30+ but they are small and can only really be noticed when I stretch the skin. I remember actually seeing these bumps a while ago(maybe around 6 months or go or possibly even longer) so I probably have had them for a while but I thought nothing of it back then but I suddenly just got paranoid today. I got the HPV vaccine~ 4 years ago. So my questions are
1. What is the likeliness of these actually being warts as it was protected oral and I have had a vaccine.
2. If you have warts, would there be this many because honestly it would be difficult for me to count. Does this sound like warts?
Could these just be normal parts of my skin as I have just noticed it upon close inspection and I'm just worrying too much?
Thanks so much for your services!

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your confidence in our services.

Based on your description, almost certainly the bumps you describe are not warts. You even state some of the reasons:  oral sex (even unprotected) is extremly low risk for warts, and with a condom zero risk for all practical purposes; their appearance; and their large number. Your description indeed suggests prominent sebaceous or sweat glands (often called Fordyce spots). Having been vaccinated makes warts very unlikely as well:  you are 100% immune to the two HPV types (HPV6 and 11) that cause ~90% of genital warts.

Those comments cover your two questions. Indeed I strongly suspect your penile skin is enitrely normal.

I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Dear Dr Handsfield
Thank you for your reply!
Thank you for the reassurance. I was just worried because when I googled images of warts, the image presented always varied in appearance and there were some pictures where the warts looked different to others so I thought my bumps might've of been an atypical appearance. The problem is I'm not 100% sure if the condom was even worn properly but as you said, this still makes it very low risk right?
Also in terms of the large number I mentioned, is this very irregular if it were to be warts?
Thanks for your reply

Hard to know if the condom made any difference, since warts are almost never acquired by oral sex, even unprotected. As I said above, it is likely the condom further reduced the already nearly zero risk.  And yes, also implied in my answer above:  very large numbers make warts unlikely.---
