[Question #7919] Urethra pinch/tingle

In January my wife's friend who was staying with us straddle me while I was sleeping it took a few mins before I cam to and realized it wasn't my wife. About a week later I was having some sting coming from urethra did a urethral swab was negative I was put on some antibiotics over the past few months it has eased up but I get a random pinch / sting feeling right at penis opening I've spread the opening and looked and it is pretty red and there is a few small bumps on the left side that seem to fluctuate in size there bigger in the Morning it seems and has a blue tint pc thinks it maybe a blood vein. The pinch feeling comes and goes thru out the day. My wife and I are wanting to expand out family but I worry I have something and don't want to hurt her nor the baby. Please help.

I'd add that when I urinate there isn't any pain the pinch feel comes at random times rather I'm relaxing at home or out in public I haven't fount a pattern , I had done a molecular pcr urine test today would that help determine if I had received a std from our former room mate ? If it's a reliable test what is the accuracy and what would it test for I can't find much info online about it

The symptoms you describe are not typcial for any STD; and from your description, I'm not convinced the appearance of your urethral opening is abnormal. It would be helpful to know what antibiotic(s) you took, an exactly what "molecular tests" were done today: for which STDs?
Based on the information provided, I doubt you have any STD. But let me know the missing information and we'll take it from there. In the meantime, I hope these comments are helpful.

The medications I have took over the course of the last 4 months are as listed . Metronidazole 500mg , diflucan 150mg. Azithromycin 250mg and I'm currently taking hydroxy cyclate 100mg for 2 weeks total. My most current urinalysis has a ph of 7. Urobinogen 0.2 and a specific gravity of 1.025 urine culture didn't show any growth this time in 24 hours. Back in March one of the test for urea/mycroplasma came back as " media overgrown with fungus or bacteria isolation is not possible " 3 weeks later same test was negative. As far as this pcr urine test they didn't say what it was for just called me in Friday to take it so it could get sent off. The whole ordeal started when I got straddled there was penitration January 15th February 5th I had been tested for the following.
Hsv 1&2 both showed a <0.91
Hep , a,b,c negative
Chlamydia trachomatis and nesiera gonareaha both negative was the tests done to soon ? Most the symptoms went away just left with a random itch/pinch feeling that appears randomly some times last 5 Secs to 10 mins some times , some times I'll pee and have a slight irritation/pinch at the penis opening that starts a few mins after urine and lasts about 10 mins. Scared to have unprotected sex with my wife we want another baby but cant risk endangering her or the baby untill this is figured out.

1. Is there any tests you think needs repeated ?
2. Do you think it would be safe to try and expand the family or continue to figure out the cause and reasoning?
3. I've not noticed any discharge, but I have noticed some times when I open the meatus to check on those spots or if I felt the pinch feeling I'd notice it's pretty red and what resembles I watermelon( the design ) patchy spot. And I notice a watery clear looking fluid but it don't ever run out on its own.
Also Dr HHH , I know it's a holiday weekend enjoy time with your family you don't have to respond this weekend !

I'm trying to remember talks with the urologist to give you the most accurate information. As far the the urethra spot one recorded it as a lesion , one urologist said it was a blood vessel the sense of the stinging feels like it comes from the area that has the unidentified spots , could it be hsv urethritis, hpv urethritis ? I got told
"maybe" and there other answers were only ngu , but it should had went away already so there really not sure and me getting told it could be hsv / hpv related is a really scary thought. The DR has scheduled for me to get a hsv 1&2 and RPR test done tomorrow while we wait on the PCR urine test to get back

I apologize for the long delay in replying to your follow-up questions.
The lack of response to all those antibiotics further confirms that no bacterial infection of any kind is the cause of your symptoms. Although HSV can cause urethritis, that's a brief, painful event; it cannot cause the sort of problems you describe. HPV is not known to cause urethritis as well. And your symptoms are not typical of NGU of any kind. You can expect negative results for your HSV blood test and RPR (or if positive, it still won't have any relationship to your symptoms). I would not repeat any tests of any kind. I am confident you have no STD or any other infection to explain your symptoms. My best guess is that your symptoms are primarily psychological and that you have nothing that will ever be significantly harmful to you or any sex partners.

No apologies needed sir you are a busy man. You was correct my hsv1&2 blood work came back negative, as far as the pcr urine I didn't get to read the results but the nurse that called said it was negative for any growths for bacteria and fungal ( it didn't check for sti) I still get a random pinch/sting at the opening meatus.. I know you said maybe psychological but ill be at work and my mind won't even be on it and it will happen, could it be prostste issue ? Even tho all the antibiotics I've been on , or maybe diabetes? I had a kidney stone in my kidney about 2 months ago and to my knowledge I haven't passed it.. but it would hurt when I pee and not randomly..
1. How accurate would the hsv blood test at 4 months past encounter.
2. Could it be prostate , diebeates or maybe the kidney stone.
3. Is the male urethra opening usually red colored ?
4. Have you ever heard of anyone with similar urethra / penis tip discomfort before ? And the std test be negative

1. Your symptoms do not suggest herpes, so I'm not sure this matters. But the blood test picks up all HSV2 by 4 months. About 30% of people with HSV1 never develop positive blood tests.
2. I really cannot judge the possible causes. I'm confident you have no STD. Prostatiis might be possible, but unlikely with "pinching" the only symptom. I don't think either diabetes or stone could do this.
3. Yes, this sounds normal.
4. This is a common symptom, but in most cases no infection is ever found as the cause.
