[Question #7929] Ocd and counselling

Thanks Doctors this will be the last question as I want to move on, I decided to go for counselling as this might be an ocd issue.

I got the chance to go to an std clinic and after 11months I got an insti test done by a nurse, I am still on anabolic steroid cycle but not the biotin at all, this can confirm I am free from the virus from the exposure I had now 11 months before?

I want to believe my 4th generation test done at 9 months after being w a partner for a year is conclusive, even though I was starting on anabolic steroid cycle of 0.5 mg per week( was about a month of the cycle when I took the test) but I was on biotin of 200mcg per tablet too the day of the test as I said before didnt know It could affect the test.

I dont want to become obsessive of testing but in your honest opinion the anabolic steroid can supress antibodies completely and being also affected by the biotin intake, is my 4th generation test enough and accurate?

I dont want to harm my current partner at all

I'm sorry, but you have been warned about continued questions of this sort. We are not an OCD treatment/advice service. We can do no more than assure you (again) that your HIV test results indeed are conclusive. Previous discussions have already told you that anabolic steroids have no effect on test reliability.

Future questions along these lines won't even get this much reply, but will be deleted without comment.

I do hope the discussions have been helpful, however. Indeed, your concerns are strictly an OCD issue. I hope you indeed follow through with professional evaluation and care for it.

Sorry Its not my intention at all to upset you Docs, what I comment is that I am indeed getting counselling (not from the forum) in all this process I just wanted to make sure that the steroids plus the biotin use wouldnt make my test non reliable, as I know from what I read in the forum even an insti test after 11 months is reliable as if infected antibodies stay forever am I right?

The nurse I could chat with confirmed that she was confident on the results and wouldnt suggest more testing however she didnt have any knowledge about biotin thats why I came back to ask to make sure I am safe, not harming my partner or my own life by not receiving treatment if there was a virus present
