[Question #7944] Protected Oral Sex @ Asian Spa
50 months ago
|
I went to an Asian Spa and want to know my risk of catching an STI. The following was the situation:
1) Received protected oral sex with a unlubricated condom. It was put on and taken off correctly and was used the entire time.
2) The masseuse briefly kissed my scrotum lightly with her lips and I felt a little bit of moisture from her lips or saliva. It was a quick kiss.
3) I touched her vagina with my fingers and about ten minutes later, she briefly used the same towel (i stopped her quickly) to wipe off my hands and then penis. She did not get anywhere near my penis hole. I also used hand sanitizer right after she did that all over my penis.
What are my risks for catching an STI? I am in a committed relationship and have guilt of course, which I will have to deal with myself. Am I OK to proceed with unprotected sex with my partner.
Thank you

Welcome back to the forum.
First, congratulations for having entirely safe sex for relationships outside your regular partnership!
---
Some questions can be pretty accurately answered based on the first few words -- in this case, the title you chose for your question. Oral sex is low risk for all STIs, and condom-protected oral sex is no risk at all. In addition, I have also read your discussion with Dr. Hook a year ago, with questions about a similar exposure: it seems to have inluded all the kinds of contact you describe here except the oral sex event, i.e. questions 2 and 3 this time. The answers are the same -- and should be very reassuring. The bottom line is that you are at no risk for any STI, should not be tested, and can safely continue unprotected sex with your partner. But to assure no misunderstanding:
1) Condom protected oral sex is zero risk for any and STIs.
2) Kissing skin anywhere on the body carries little or no risk for any STI. The scrotum is at no greater risk for acquiring infection than anywhere else -- no different than cheek, chest, elbow, or anywhere else you can think of. Saliva rarely transmits any infection -- in fact, saliva kills many bacteria and viruses, including HIV.
3) Fingering and hand-genital contact is no risk for any infection.
So all is well -- you should be having no worries at all. I recommend against testing and that you continue your normal sexual practices at home.
I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you for your response. And the last question on the towel I assume is no risk as well. Just need to confirm? Appreciate your replies.

Correct. STIs are not transmitted by contact with contaminated towels, clothing, etc.---

Last question. I've read that HPV and herpes can be a risk? If so, is the risk almost nil or zero?
