[Question #8027] Herpes Protected Oral

I visited an erotic Asian massage parlor. I received a massage and table shower. After the massage the lady asked if I wanted oral sex which I regrettably agreed to with a condom on. I am very concerned that before she put the condom on she licked my testicles, and base of penis shaft. It was very brief lasting anywhere from 20 to 40 seconds. She also sucked on a testicle for a brief 3 seconds. She then placed the condom on and started to proceed which ended in a minute or less. I am concerned mostly with catching genital herpes from the licking. Also mention that I suffer from anxiety and have been worrying about this since it happened. I know this was probably not the smartest move but I used hand sanitizer to clean the area after leaving. This was my first and last experience with this as I am married and can't deal with the anxiety. I have had some very minor itching probably in my head but it has only been almost 2 days since the encounter. What are my risks of contracting Herpes or any STD/STI? I know I'm potentially at risk but how much and I don't remember ever having cold sores as a kid for further info?

I think this experience is about as close to zero risks as one can get. First, the scrotum surrounding the testicles is thick and unlikely to be infected when that alone is the exposure. And it was so very very brief! And then the hand sanitizer is an added bonus - probably not necessary, but not a bad thing. All in all, I am NOT worried about your contracting HSV 1or any other STI from the experience.

Thank you for your reply. I am starting day 5 since possible exposure and found a bump that looks like a pimple that I feel is a hard possible pus ball not 100%. I do not think her mouth touched that side but can't guarantee but it is very low on the scrotum. I have not shaved recently as a side note. (Not sure if picture uploaded as well.) Am I looking at maybe just a pimple ingrown hair or possibly herpes? It does not feel painful or itch but as I said before I have been a little itchy but I chalked it up to the hand sanitizer and alcohol irritation more likely.

I think you are looking at a pimple as it is not tender and again, the risk is just about zero from this experience. I'll bet you are looking very carefully, yes? Also, if it is on the scrotum, there are normal bumps that occur there that are not a result of a sexually transmitted infection, small cysts. Those are not something to be worried about. We don't accept photos on this website. But look up sebaceous cysts of the scrotum and see if this look familiar

Yes that is what it looks like and yes I am checking myself over carefully. My first thought was pimple or ingrown hair but wanted to double check. I will continue to monitor and if I have any other questions or concerns will be back. Right now I feel pretty calm that I haven't contracted any STI's.

Good! And if you have further concerns about any genital skin changes, go in to see a provider in person for greatest accuracy.
