[Question #8112] Protected oral sex

Hi doctors

A Few days ago I had protected oral sex from a girl. I didn't know her very well. She didn't have any visible liaisons on her mouth. The encounter was oral only and nothing more and was protected.. When we ended I took the condom off and looked at it and it looked intact. I don't feel anything other than some weird sensation that comes and goes. But that could  be anxiety. I took 800 mg cexfiximine and 1 g azithromycin the day after the encounter. What are the risks of stds like gonnoera, chylmidya or any others from this protected oral episode.

Welcome back to the forum. However, I do not think I can help very much; I'm sure you have predicted what we would say. This is your fifth question in the last 6 months, all concerning oral sex exposures, and in all the previous ones you were advised about the low risk for any and all STDs. And those episodes seemed to be for unprotected oral sex. Of course the chance of infection with condom protection is zero for all practical purposes. You did not need treatment and should not be tested for anything. As for your symptoms, they seem to be identical to the ones you asked about previously. As you were told then, anxiety is by far the most likely explanation.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD
