I am a 62 year old male who contracted Genital Herpes 30ys ago on my penis shaft and scrotum. Its was never very severe, 2-3 small outbreaks every year for the first 5 years, then became increasingly less frequent. Have not had an out break for at lest 5yrs possibly 10. Question: Will my partner become infected if we French Kiss for extended periods?

If your infection is genital, kissing will not transmit the virus at all. Kiss away!
And if you want to have intercourse with this partner and reduce the risk of transmission, you could consider taking daily antiviral medication and using a condom - those together greatly reduce the risk of infecting your partner.

What about cunilingus? I've read that saliva carries the virus.

Again, if you have only a genital infection, the virus while stay in the set of nerves that innervate the genitalia - kind of the area covered by a pair of boxer shorts. You don't need to worry about saliva carrying genital herpes virus.
