I m giving suite to the question #8101. So i m still waiting to get tested but upon return my boyfriend really pressured me to have sex . so i did with a condom ..he didnt have any lesions on his penis .the last lesion was near the base of his penis and now was gone. I insisted to well unfold the condom on the shaft till the base but i saw after the act that this area was no longer covered. The thing is that he had mentioned that his ankle was scratching and then i realised its ankle herpes. So he has an outbreak right? after the act i washed my genitals with no soap gel  and i applied a mixture of alcohol and fluorescein that the dermatologist gave me.what are the chances i got infected now that is If i dont allready have it and i am asymptomatic because i dont have any symptoms since april that i met him.

I doubt that your boyfriend has ankle herpes.  I'm curious about why you think that, because he had itching there?  I think this one act of intercourse is unlikely to result in infection for you.  Remind me - have you been tested for HSV 2?

so i just had my results and they are as follow

IgG-HSV1 : Positive  >62.2

IgG-HSV2: Negatif    <0.5

IgM >3.5

So how i interpret those results? Can i say that i dont have herpes type II ? even after my last protected contact? do i need to repeat the test in few weeks? Does this mean that i probably wont ever get it from this guy? because i had long and intense contact with this guy and i didnt get? How i proceed ? What i must do? His lesions will always be on the same place?  so its the base of his penis that i need to be careful or the shedding can be anywhere? If i put a woman condom its better? or nobody knows and even  if i have sex with condom chances will always be there that i will get it? how come my hsv1 is so high since july?

As of right now, yes, you can say that you are negative for HSV 2.  Condoms reduce transmission from males to females by 96% so I think it is unlikely that you were infected at this last encounter, but if any unprotected intercourse happened in the past 12 weeks, this may not be fully accurate yet.  It certainly doesn't mean that in the future you won't get it from him.  Though his lesions may be at the base of his penis, he will shed virus from the shaft of his penis intermittently.  A female condom may give you better protection, yes.  But at a minimum, male condoms should always be used with him.  The HSV 1 values vary greatly over time.  That is nothing to worry about. Also, different labs use different tests and the ranges can vary

terri , i sincerely thank you for your support and advice that resonate with me. its precious , its reconforting and thank you. you  bring me clarity in a very stressful and confusing situation and i value very much your expertise, your advice and your kindness.as i can think of , my last unprotected encounter with this guy was 10 weeks ago , maybe i m wrong - i calculate late june maybe even mi-june, i sincerely cant know the exact date, but i saw his lesion late june and before we had unprotected sex .  so do you think that i should do another test like in 3-4 weeks? so we dont know if i am negatif.  i can still turn positive? so i dont know what is happening and if i positive or negative. right?  you mention 96% of protection with condom.... but i guess if you have sex a lot even with a condom this will change wont it? i read that one time sex with a condom is 4% risk of transmission but repeatedly is 50-70%

If it was late June,, then honestly, you are very likely fine now.
I don't know where you got the 4% but repeated sex is 50-70%, that's not accurate.  If  condom stays intact and and is used with every intercourse, the condom is consistently 96% effective in reducing transmission.
