[Question #8208] HSV2 Symptoms

My boyfriend and I have been together for years. We had sex on Friday morning, (we don’t use condoms) I was a little sore afterwards but that happens often and then by Saturday I feel really itchy. I used my handheld mirror to take a look at what was going on and I saw lots white creamy discharge in the opening of my vagina so I wiped and it went away but I noticed a small amount was still there, in the bottom right-hand side, which is also he side I usually get a bartholins cyst, so I wiped again, it remained, so I wiped harder and it came off but I realized it was a tad yellow and thicker in texture and the spot actually bled like I had popped a bump or something. I peed immediately after and I didn’t feel any pain, the actual spot doesn’t feel painful but it was really red. The next day, it seemed to have a hard white head. Fast forward to today, it’s still a small red bump with a white head. Could this be a herpes lesion? It is very mildly tender to touch as unless I’m looking at it, I don’t know it’s there. I’d like some guidance before going to test for no reason.

I forgot to mention, once I wiped away the discharge, the itching went away as well

It sounds to me like you had a yeast infection perhaps. But the bleeding area is a little concerning.
Let me ask: have you ever had a cold sore on your lip in the past? Does your partner give you oral sex? Is the spot now ulcerated? Do you have a provider that you could go see to have it evaluated in person?

I’ve never had a cold sore, though I have tested positive for hsv1 in the past by blood test, negative for hsv2. He’s never had a cold sore but I really don’t know if he’s ever been tested for either. It’s not ulcerated, just looks like a small red spot. He does give oral sex. I do have a provider and I can make an appointment to go in, for sure

Update*
I went to an urgent care last night to have it looked at. The PA said she didn’t see anything concerning, she actually didn’t see anything at all and said that maybe I rubbed too rough and it went away but I still see the little red spot. In your opinion, should I do any more testing? Maybe make an appointment with my actual gynecologist?

I'm so glad you went to see someone and had the concerning area evaluated. I don't think you need any more testing at this time.
