Hi Dr.

To follow up on my last question and encounter.
I saw another dermatologist, she seemed well experienced and did not hesitate with her diagnosis.
She told me it is not a wart, it is a cyst from oil glands, and suggested I leave it alone till it is gone and asked me to come in a month for follow up.
I asked her if the cryotherapy I received could have changed its appearance which could be mistaken, she said she is 99.9% sure it is not a wart, and to make that 100% she would do a biobsy which she did not recommend because of the scarring. she said she can’t see any remenant of a wart and even with the cryotherapy she would have knew it was a wart.
I am very relieved by her diagnosis, and I hope she is right.
What do you think?

Welcome back to the forum although I’m sorry that you felt the need. Your report of your interaction with the dermatologist is consistent with the information I have provided to you in the past and is entirely logical. In addition, your dermatologist had the opportunity to directly examine you and to take a careful history from you. I urge you to believe her.  EWH ---

Thank you Dr Hook. I understand that aniexty plays a role in what I am experiencing. But I was misdiagnosed buy a PA of having a wart and even got it freezed only to know it was not a wart. I really try to get this encounter behind my back and move on and I really thank you because you helped me a lot. Jut the minor symptoms I am having is making me nervous like red testicles and a little irritation in testicles that comes and goes. My genital area is tense somehow and feels different of what It used to be. I keep thinking about herpes even though I did not see any blisters and it is now two months after the oral encounter I had. I hope that this aniexty goes away.
Thank you again for helping me here

Thanks for your thanks. I’m glad my comments were helpful. Your experience of this diagnosis is all too common. Warts are certainly common and can be mimicked by many other benign cutaneous processes. All too many clinicians simply don’t take the time or care to properly diagnose them, reasoning that as long as they are treated everything is fine. Your experience shows that is not the case.

My sense is that your experience has also caused you to become hyper vigilant regarding non-STI genital findings. No STI’s come and go or cause the sort of testicular redness you were describing. I suspect what you are seeing is normal, amplified by your anxiety.  Please do your best not to worry.

I hope that my comments will help you to move forward without continuing concern. EWH

Final response. Headaches of the sort you describe are in no way suggestive of HSV, HIV or any other STI.  They are likely related to your attention/anxiety. Please address your anxiety, even if it requires professional assistance.

As you know this complete this thread. Take care please don’t worry. EWH
