[Question #8253] Tests and symptoms

Hello dear doctors. I told you before about my sexual contact. Long-term frottage. Both dr hook and dr handsfield had said it was risk free. Now the problem is I was drunk and I don't remember well. Maybe there was a vagina contact. I definitely can't remember. I had HIV RNA + HIV DUO ULTRA tests done on the 15th day after sexual contact. On the 22nd day I repeated the HIV RNA + HIV DUO ultra tests. Normally, I would trust two doctors and get tested once and continue. But I started experiencing some symptoms. As of April 16, my lymph felt swollen and painful. On September 20, I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound. There are multiple benign reactive laps on the neck. The largest is 9x21 mm in the right submand region. I then had a normal blood test on the 25th day of sexual contact yesterday, September 23rd, and the results were wbc 11.47 - ref 3.91 - 8.77 - neutrophil 49.3% - ref 50-70 - Neutrophil 5.66 - ref 2- 7 - lymphocyte 41.1% - ref 20-40 - lymphocyte 4.71 - ref 0.8 - 4 - Also, these values were normal in the blood test I had last done in August 2021. Again today, my parotid gland feels swollen at the left side under the ear where it joins the chin, I don't know if it's lymph, but when I checked it with my hand, there is no ball there. And yesterday, a redness and a white spot in the middle appeared at different times near my right and left belt, itched and then went away on its own. I also started getting a lot of white pimples on the body. Now looking at all this, my immune system seems to be at war. Before, my blood tests were always normal. My lymph nodes have not swollen all my life. Do you think blood values would fluctuate like this if it was related to HIV? Have you seen it before? Or would it be too high values? Tomorrow will be the 27th day, I will have HIV RNA + HIV DUO ULTRA done again. If my blood test and lymph and parotid gland are related to HIV, will it be positive 2 days after the symptoms? Is the combination of these tests 100%? Is there any seroconversion condition? Should I repeat the 45th day? Doctors I am very scared because I am in ars period. I have never had a fever or rash. Is it possible to have ars without fire? Does Ars come only with fire? I have mild muscle aches and neck pain and these other symptoms that scare me. Around my neck and chin are always uncomfortable. I know frottage is a risk-free event, but I'm very scared if there was a vaginal contact that I can't remember because I was drunk. Because I am a person who does not get sick easily in my life. Along with the blood tests, the lymph and parotid gland worry me a lot. What do you think ? Could my negative tests on the 22nd day have missed a seroconversion event? Please help me. I am grateful to you. Thank you for everything.

Dear doctor, I am constantly measuring my temperature under the armpit and now it is 37c. It had never been this high before. Today, after the parotid glands swell, my fever seems to be starting to rise. Ars fever gradually rises? And how many degrees of ars fever in the armpit?

However, I think I have the picture pretty well from what you say this time. I see nothing in this that even hints that you might have HIV. Without unprotected penile penetration into an infected person's vagina or rectum, the chance of HIV from sexual exposure is zero, or close to it -- and all you say suggests that such penetration did not occur. Even if it did, if with a with HIV, the average risk of transmission to you would have been one chance in 2,500. Finally, the combination of tests you had -- negative RNA plus negative antigen-antibody (AgAb, "duo") test -- is 100% conclusive for all practical purposes. And for sure these prove any symptoms you have cannot be due to HIV. It is impossible to have HIV symptoms with negative antibody test results. The other tests you describe, and your other symptoms etc, are irrelevant: even if these were typical for a new HIV infection (they are not), the HIV test results themselves overrule all other considerations.
So you do not need any further tests. However, if you go ahead with that plan, for sure the results will be negative.
I will not have any further comments unless and until you can provide the information so I can see your previous threads. Thank you for your understanding.

Old topic #8189. Dear doctor, I appreciate the work you do here. Thank you for your help. The problem here is that I'm drunk so I can't remember if it was penetration. Let me ask my question like this. If my partner was positive and there was penetration. Again on the 22nd day, would HIV RNA + HIV DUO be 100%? My blood tests were done on the 25th day and my values are up and down. Also pain in the lymph nodes and swelling of the doctor-approved lymph. Is there a chance for these tests to miss the virus, even if it is small? Just understand my concern please. I have never been sick easily in my life. My blood values were always normal before. My lymph nodes have never swelled. I am very worried about these. If I get the RNA and DUO test again on the 27th day tomorrow. If my blood values and lymph nodes are related to HIV, will they turn positive tomorrow? Would you suggest I test again tomorrow? If my questions are not related to HIV, are the abnormal blood values and lymph nodes related to another std? Or something else? I am very grateful and grateful for your help.

It was also #8203. And Dr. Hook ended that discussion with this:
---
---
"I must warn you that further anxiety-driven exposures related to your close to no risk exposure may be answered very briefly or not at all and that any posting fees will not be returned."
All questions asked now were answered in your two previous discussions. Whether or not there was vaginal penetration makes no difference. I already answered your repeat question about test reliability at 22 days: did even read it? Or did you think I might have changed my mind?
Your test results PROVE your symptom are not due to HIV, no matter now high risk the exposure was at the time, no matter what symptoms you have now or in the future, and no matter your blood counts. We provide advice only on HIV and other STDs; since you have neither, I have no comments about your blood counts. This and your symptoms are for you to discuss with your personal physician. Given your fears, you probably should go ahead with repeat HIV testing tomorrow -- not because there is any realistic chance you have it, but to help convince you that you do not. You can expect another negative result.
Really, try to relax. Stop this irrational panic and carefully re-read all comments in this and both your previous threads. Pay close attention. Then do your best to move on without further worry about HIV.

Thank you very much dear doctor. I will try to overcome my anxiety. Sorry for my repetitive questions. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are happy that there are good people like you. You have been very helpful. Thanks. Finally, to overcome my anxiety. Tomorrow I will repeat the tests and share the result with you.

There is no need to share a negative test result, and we have had the two follow-up exchanges (three replies total) included with each question; this thread will be closed. In the almost zero chance that your repeat HIV test results are positive, feel free to return* -- in which case we will refund your posting fee. Otherwise, please note Dr. Hook's warning above: Any additional questions about this exposure and your concerns about it will be deleted without reply, and without refund of the posting fee. Such questions always have predictable answers, and little teaching value for other users -- one of the main reasons for the forum. Thank you for your understanding.---
* In that event, you would be the first in 15 years of this and our preceding forum at MedHelp. Among thousands of questions from people worried about HIV, none later reported they were infected. If and when that happens, almost certainly it will be from a legitimately high risk exposure, not a risk-free event like the one you have described!---
