Hi Ive been have an itchy feeling in my uretha sometimes frequent urination and occassionally a spit stream.
There was 1 or 2 occassions where oopening was partially closed but had been aroused prior to that happening.
I was with wife 3 weeks ago no condom just vaginal sex.
Last week 20 year old CSW but evrything protected except handjob.
No large draining or stains noted.
There did look like tiny string like thing in urine but it was cleae other than that.
I will be getting tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia.
How long can someone have it before the body clears it itself.
I know it could be anxiety but could use some knowledge.
I take cialias to help empty my bladder

Welcome back to the forum. Thanks for your questions. I’ll be glad to comment. Nothing you described in your post suggest that you are at any risk for STI’s. No STI’s are transmitted through receipt of masturbation, condom protected sex is safe sex, and I presume that there is no reason to think that you would’ve required unless the STI from your wife. Neither urethral itch nor urinary frequency is a symptom suggestive of any STI. I am confident that your tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia will be negative.
You are correct that in persons with either gonorrhea or chlamydia, even without treatment, these infections may clear over time. While as many as 20% of infections make clear over 2 to 4 weeks following infection, it is also well documented that in some persons infections can persist for six months, a year, or even longer. That’s when someone is concerned, or feels that they may have been exposed, the best way to rule out infection is through testing.
I hope the information I have provided is useful. If any part of my response is unclear or additional clarification is needed, please don’t hesitate do use your up to two follow ups for that purpose. EWH

Hi Dr. Hook thank you that information helps lower my anxieties.
I do have a question about the split stream of my urine. It seams to becoming more frequently. Also is the Compare - Chlamydia and Gonorrhea Test accurate. I may be being paranoid but does lower volume when I ejaculate a cause of concern

Thanks for your follow up. I did not comment on the split urine stream as this is not a sign of any specific STI. It suggests there may be a process or some minor obstruction present in within the urethra which would be more of a urological problem then related to STI. In your original question you mentioned that you are taking Cialis for bladder issues. Thus, I presume you were under the care of a urologist. I will discuss the split stream issues with him/her.
I’m sure I follow your question regarding the Compare-Chlamydia and Gonorrhea test. Is this a brand of test? If so, I am not familiar with it however, most approved tests are highly accurate and reliable. If this is a brand of testing you would like to provide me with a bit more information I will will do my best to come out. EWH

Hi my test came back negative but still having some symptoms.
Is it possible to have epididimyitis with negative test ? I have used babyoil for lube for masterbation could this have caused any non sti issues. I have read painfull testicle n frequent urination can be a sign of epididmyitis. Is this true ?In addition to honorrhea n chlymydia test I took a otc test for uti which was also negative

Your test results, including the negative UTI test male it unlikely that infection is present. Your symptoms really do not suggest epididymitis. Urinary frequency is neither a sign of STI or non-STI epidydimitis. As I mentioned before. With your split stream this is likely to be a non-STI urological problem.
I hope this helps. As you know this 3rd response completes this thread. If the problem is not improving, my recommendation is to address this with your urologist. Take care. EWH

Please see my responses above. There is nothing to suggest that this is an STI related problem of any sort. End of thread. EWH---
