[Question #8275] Very worried about possible std exposure

Hello Doctors, I am a married 29 year old male that made a big mistake, and I admit I do feel awful. I will admit I kind of freaked out about hpv maybe a year ago. Ok here it goes…
Like 2 Sundays ago I went to a dominatrix. I was completely naked and the domme women was wearing dress type thing that had a see through area around here vagina covered with like some kind of webbing but not completely covered. Anyway I was hit with a whip a couple times wore a mask (but I could still see) and she gave me a handjob with ejaculation with a ky jelly. During the time she rub her body on mine with the thing I described her wearing and the erect penis did touch her vagina area through the see through suit for maybe 30 secs to a minute. I was wondering what stds I should be most concerned about. Over the past couple days I have been mostly worried about hpv and herpes. I read on the internet that these can be passed through handjobs and other things like I did. Is this true?
Do you think I should get tested and how likely do you think it is that I might have gotten an std from this experience.
I feel very bad and I worry I could give-something my current partner. Should we stop having sex for a while or what is your best advice. I am worried that maybe when my penis touched her vagina area with that very thin seethrough barrier that This may have spread something, or during the handjob that was about 3-4 mins of rubbing. I have been trying to forget about it but it’s all that’s on my mind.
I got a hpv vaccine but only my first shot in mid to late May and the 2nd I believe at the end of June or early July. I need to wait until like November to get the 3rd. I am not sure if that helps me at all or not.
The dominatrix wanted to use a strap on on me with a dildo but we didn’t though she briefly touched my anal area. If I could ask is something like this a high risk for stds.
Please let me know if I should give testing due to my recent encounter and if it is likely I got an std heroes

Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your questions. I’ll be glad to provide some information. Before I address your specific questions let me assure you that STI‘s are not transmitted through hand to genital contact, even when a person has touched their own genitals with their hands before touching a partner‘s genitals with those potentially contaminated hands. Transfer of genital secretions on the hands does not result in risk for STI. In general, no penetration and no direct contact, no risk. By and large the event you describe sound like safe sex with no risk for acquisition of STI’s, including HPV and no need for testing of any sort. With those general statements let’s address your specific questions:
1. Frottage (body rubbing) of the sort you describe is not a risk for acquisition of any STI.
2. Receipt of masturbation is not a risk for any STI. This is true even if your partner happens to have some of her general secretions on her hand at the time of masturbation.
3. As mentioned above there is no risk for STI’s including HPV and herpes. Had you acquired herpes you would have developed symptoms of infection within 8 to 10 days following exposure. You are out of the period of concern. Regarding HPV, virtually every sexually active person already has or has had HPV. I would not worry about this particularly since you have already received the HPV vaccine (see below).
4. Please do not seek information on STI risk or manifestations on the Internet. The Internet is not edited or monitored and much of the information there is incorrect either because it is taken out of context, because it is out of date, or because it is just plain wrong.
5. Nothing you have reported were described suggest any need for testing of any sort.
6. Nothing about the encounter you describe suggested your partner is it any risk.
7. In the majority of individuals the first HPV vaccine provides protection and resistance to infection. Subsequent vaccinations strengthen and prolong the immune response.
8. The fact that your partner touched your anal region without penetration does not represent a risk for acquisition of any STI.
I hope the information I have provided is helpful to you. Nothing you have described suggest any reason for concern. I would not worry. EWH

Thank you so much Doctor, this service is great and I already feel so much better. I guess I will continue sex with my regular partner with worries from this most recent event. Please let me know if that is ok. Thank you

I agree entirely with the plan you outline. No reason related to the encounter you describe to avoid unprotected sex with your regular partner. EWH ---
