[Question #8286] Worried about a Red Spot

Hello. About 12 days ago I received a handjob from a CSW. She had what look like dried up burn scars on her thumb and index finger. I asked Nurse Warren what is the chance I could receive Whitlow from the handjob. She said it was very low. Okay very good to know. Now almost 12 days after the incident, I noticed a very small red spot on my penis the size of a pencil head that looks like it could be a pimple or turn into something else.
My questions are:
What are the chances this could be HPV, HSV, or something else from the handjob?
What is the likely hood this is just a pimple?
What is the chance I am over checking my penis?
Sorry I suffer from OCD so I have been checking my private area A lot. I thought I was in the clear from the handjob incident until I saw this pimple like red spot on my penis.

If this is concern do you recommend any testing or is this just me over reacting? Sorry my OCD is getting the best of me.

Welcome back to our forum. I’m sorry you felt the need. I also very much appreciate your acknowledgment of your OCD. In reviewing your multiple interactions with Dr. Handsfield, Ms. Warren, and me over the past month, my sense is that your OCD has become focused on STI risk and is getting the better of you. I hope that you are working with a professional to address your OCD issues and would suggest that the problems described over the past few questions are better addressed as part of your OCD them in terms of any meaningful risk for any STI.
1. This is not an STI. Specifically, herpes lesions would have appeared as small fluid filled blisters within 8 to 10 days of the encounter and Terri has already assured you that herpes is not transmit it in this way. HPV lesions take 2 to 3 months to appear. What you described is most consistent with a simple cyst or folliculitis lesion. Nothing you have described suggest an STI.
2. This is certainly a possibility.
3. Yes. It is quite common for persons who are concerned over a recent encounter to over check themselves leading them to notice lesion some spots that they might have otherwise normally overlooked. I strongly suspect this is what you are doing.
I hope my reassurances are helpful to you. At this point, once again, I encourage you to address these concerns with the professional who is helping you to address your OCD. These are not STI problems. Take care. Please don’t worry. EWH
