[Question #8348] Testing Question for HIV (Clarification)
|
Hello sorry for coming back but I promise this is my last question
I just wanted to clarify that the lesion near my inner medial thigh/groin did not appear until the day after I tested negative with a 4th gen test. It was not there the day I tested or beforehand. It did not appear on my body until the night after I tested. Does this still mean this lesion has no correlation with HIV from my possible exposure?
Overall would you recommend I test again over this situation or is my day 32 test reassuring enough?? Again my lesion did not appear until day 33 (I had been checking before I got tested and it wasn’t there). Thank you and those are my final questions.

And I’m sorry for being repetitive but I just want to make sure I’m understood that the lesion wasn’t on my body before or on the day I got tested and I only noticed it the day after. It wasn’t on my body until the day after I got tested. And I want that to be understood so the assessment on whether or not my test negates that lesion’s relation to HIV isn’t affected.

This is, once again repetitive. I was and remain aware that the lesion on your inner/medial thigh was not present on the day you tested negative and appeared the next day. If you had acquired HIV from the episode you are worried about and the lesion was due to HIV, the test taken a day later would have been positive.
Given the information you provided I see no reason whatsoever for further testing. EWH

“ the test taken a day later would have been positive.”
I’m sorry but again the test was taken the day BEFORE the lesion appeared and was the only test I’ve taken related to this exposure. With this clarification is your answer still the same that if this lesion were due to HIV then the test I took a day before it showed up would’ve been positive?

Thank you. So now that you’ve reconfirmed that if my lesion were due to HIV then the test I took a day before it showed up would’ve been positive, can I assume my negative test at 32 days post exposure is conclusive for my risk? Regardless of any lesions I had the day after? Or other OCD thoughts?

Correct.
End of thread. Warning, further anxiety-driven, repetitive questions may be deleted without a response and without return of your posting fee. Take care. Please don’t worry. EWH
