Hello!
A bit of a serious question that I am anxious to find the answer:
If someone is fully vaccinated of hpv who is 21 yrs old female. Is she protected from hpv of the strains in the vaccine. If she is able to have sex with someone who has a low risk gw strain who is in an active infection but has not visible warts. Is it safe to have unprotected sex with someone that has an active infection? She is fully vaccinated so that would mean she is protected right? Using no condoms also would be in the picture. She has been disclosed to about it and is seeing if the vaccine will do it’s job. Thank you

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for your question. I'll do my best to answer. Please understand that in Medicine there is nothing that is 100%. The HPV vaccine is one of the world's most effective vaccines and is highly protective, preventing infection in well over 97% of exposures to infected partners. In addition, remembering that most HPV infections are transitory, there are emerging data which suggest that, on those rare occasions in which HPV is present or acquired by vaccinated person, the vaccination helps the infection to ressolve.
Thus, would I worry about vaccinated person having unprotested sex with a person who is infected with HPV, the answer is no, I would not worry.
I hope this information is helpful. EWH

Thank you for your response. I am just wondering also that if someone does have 2 doses of gardasil too who is the infected one would that make the protection more prominent than someone who isn’t vaccinated that is infected to have unprotected sex with someone who is fully vaccinated? There are some people who talk in forums that say they’ve been vaccinated yet they are still infected. Is merck hpv vaccine the same as gardasil 9?

Your follow up questions are hard to follow. Following two doses of the Gardasil HPV vaccine, the majority of persons have received these doses have attained substantial protection from infection. The third injection seems to slightly increase antibody levels and prolong the duration of protection.
Nearly all HPV infections occurring in persons who have received the HPV vaccine are infected because of exposure sprayer to vaccination.
Yes, the Merck HPV vaccine is the Gardasil vaccine for prevention of HPV.
