[Question #8504] Safe sex and HPV possibility

Hi doctors, appreciate your help to the community! I wanted to check on a situation.

1. 2-3 years back I visited multiple massage parlors and in about 30 instances, I received handjobs.

2. In about 10-15 cases, masseuse went seminude (topless) and I did breast licking, touching, they lick my nipples

3. In 2-3 cases, I touched their breast with my penis.

4. In 3 or so cases, I touched with my fingers/hands their bladder, outer anus (but cheeks), but not the vagina or anus itself (at least did not feel so)

5. In 3-4 cases, they went full nude sat/lie down on massage table, but after few mins, I asked them to pant up and then only received hand job. As far as I can recollect, I did not see them touch their genitals before giving hand job, but it's been couple of years don't remember exactly.

6. 2 or 3 encounters I superficially kissed for few seconds(lip/lip), but at least once medium intensity kiss (for 3-4 seconds) don't recollect if tongue was involved.

Then 2 years I completely abstained from such activities. And recently (6-7 weeks back)

7. I attended 4 massage sessions, in 2, masseuse pants were always on and I engaged in top side activities as above and received hand jobs

8. In other 2 masseuse removed their pants and went naked, again I asked them to pant up and got hand job completed.

9. In 1 of these, I received protected oral (2 minutes, gentle, and their mouth did not cross condom surface) and finished with a mammary intercourse.

This would mean about 14 different people engaged in massage activities for all the above.

One thing for sure, no direct (protected or unprotected) penile-vaginal contact, no penile-anal contact, no penile-oral contact in any of them.

STD full panel tests came negative after 28 days since last incident, but what is the likelihood I picked HPV (especially high risk ones) in any of these incidents. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. I'm happy to address your concerns.

You describe entirely safe exposures in regard to all STIs, including HPV. Your own comments ("One thing for sure...") suggest you know that there is little or no risk in the absence of direct genital contact. In theory, HPV might be transmitted by hand-genital contact, if genital fluids are used for lubrication. But for practical purposes, it seems never to happen:  even the busiest STD clinics never see patients with HPV (e.g. genital warts, abnormal Pap smear) who did not have intercourse -- i.e. no known infected patients whose only exposures were the kind you describe.

In summary, you needn't worry at all about the events you describe here. (Assuming you're not a virgin -- i.e. you have had intercourse, separately from the events described in your question -- you can assume you have had HPV, since almost all sexually active persons are infected at one time or another. But there definitely was no risk from the events stated in your question.)

I hope this information is helpful and reassuring. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thanks a bunch for mental relief doctor! And I have reviewed the forum quite a bit, unfortunately a recent development caused distress. Specifically after the last couple of encounters from recent ones about 6-7 weeks back (immediately in a week or so and the day after I had the mammary intercourse + protected oral) I had a bump in my penis glans. Definitely it was rough mammary intercourse (climaxed). Protected oral was before that 2 mins, gentle and within condom limits. My worry increased because for the past 6-7 weeks, despite applying anti fungals and couple of round of different antibiotics it did not subside. I met with an urologist on first day I had the bump (6 weeks back), he called it out as balanitis and indicated that last option is circumscision. The bump sometimes felt like a wound but otherwise mostly a flesh coloured bump (3 mm height, 5 mm spread). Hence I thought to double check your credible opinion if those 2-3 years back events I described could have given high risk HPV and cancer by any chance. Or If I should just relax and go ahead with circumscision (meaning such bumps(sometime woundish) can occur outside of cancer too).
Side note: I am a virgin and have not had any sexual encounters other than the ones I mentioned below. Again thanks for all inputs doctor!

Thanks for the additional information, but it doesn't change my professional opinion or advice. There is no risk of HPV or other STI from the sorts of exposure you describe. A urologist's evaluation and diagnosis is almost certainly accurate:  these are not difficult conditions to diagnose visually, or to tell one condition apart from the others.

Until and unless you start having intercourse, you can be confident you do not have any STI.

Thanks doctor while he mentioned the chance this was cancer is very very low he said the prepuce would be biopsied as a usual process.  Just few more specific questions to classify little risk vs no risk.
1. Does superficial touching of bladder(not vagina)/butt cheeks(not anus) of partner with my fingers and follow up with self genital touching after few mins would be little risk or no risk ?
2. When partners pulled down and up their panties and pants and few mins later give handjob. Would garments touching(while pulling down/up) be considered as risky as genital secretion ? Little risk vs no risk ?
3. I touched their lower anus area with my boxers on (penis inside boxers). Can it spread using the gaps in the stitching or should be clear direct genital-genital contact? Little vs no risk ?

I understand even secretions is only theoretical risk.
I was not worried until symptoms showed up. Hence the follow up. Thanks again so much!

Of course I’m never going to repeat such encounters ever! just to put these in my past once for all.

It is pointless to focus on various scenarios of contact other than intercourse. Without genital penetration, or direct genital-genital contact, there are no sexual practices likely to transmit HPV.

That completes the two follow-up exchanges included with each question and so ends this thread. I hope the discussion has been helpful. Best wishes and stay safe.
