[Question #8507] High fever

Hi Doctor, This is my 2nd question and this time I had another exposure.
Iam from India. 22 days back, i went to a massage parlor where the girl gave me a naked body to body massage. During rubbing, I felt some sensation in my dick and iam not sure if there was any accidental insertion with my cock inside her. There was no purposeful insertion but during rubbing iam guessing, there might be an accidental insertion but iam not sure. This was followed by protected oral sex and i climaxed.
From yesterday, I am having high fever, muscle aches and headache. I thought this was a low risk and also engaged in unprotective sex with my wife. I am really worried with all the symptoms happening to me now- very high fever from yesterday evening, muscle aches, sore throat.
I know it's just been 22 days now and I would have to wait for few more days to get HIV conclusive result but HIV PCR test is an option right? What do you assess about my risk?

Welcome back to the forum. On this occasion I will be answering your question. In preparing to reply, I reviewed your earlier interaction with Dr. Handsfield and agree with all that he said.
The encounter you described was virtually no risk and if penetration had occurred you would have been sure of it. We have many clients who worry that they may have had inadvertent penetration but in our experience this typically represents over thinking their encounters. The symptoms you describe are non specific and could be due to any number of causes including influenza, COVID-19, or on very rare occasions in high-risk situations, recently acquired HIV. These symptoms could also be caused by a wide variety of every day respiratory tract viruses which are not typically tested for. I am confident that your symptoms are not due to HIV however, if you wish to rule out that possibility, aHIV fourth generation combination HIV antigen/antibody test would be positive if your symptoms were due to HIV. If such a test is negative you can be confident that your symptoms are not due to HIV with some other cars.
I hope this information is helpful to you. EWH

Hi Doctor, thanks for your reply. Just to make sure, I am clear, my earlier question is related to different event to this one.
Also, just to make sure i understand well, i would test positive if the symptoms are due to HIV even if it just 22 days post exposure

I understand that this was a different event but it does not change my assessment or advice.
You have answered my response regarding the the test. As Dr. Handsfield told you, it will take up to six weeks for an HIV test to be entirely reliable but IF your symptoms are due to HIV, the test would be positive at this time. EWH

Doctor, you were right. These symptoms were from Covid-19 as I have been diagnosed with Covid this morning. I might be the only person who would have been relieved with the covid positive report but it's been real difficult few days with the fever.
I am in quarantine now for the next week, so I will be testing HIV only after 42 days to rule out any possibility. Do you think I should test for any other STI or STD for my naked body to body rub and protected oral episode. Note: i got a skin tag above my eye lid few weeks back, if it's of any help. I really appreciate your service. Many Thanks

I hope you tolerate your Covid well. Your naked body rub (frottage) and receipt of protect oral sex were virtually no risk events. Skin tags are not a sign of HIV or any other STI. I see no scientific reason for testing relating to these exposures.
As you know, we were us we provide up to three responses for each clients question. This is my third response and so this thread will be closed shortly without further replies. Continue your commitment to safe sex, it will keep you healthy. Take care. EWH
