[Question #8575] Still struggling with wart

Hi Doctor,
So I guess you know my history.
I got a wart from oral sex
And I got one freezing session right after discovering it. Then another dermatologist told me it is not a wart, then she changed her mind saying it is a wart now. I have been on Aldara for 4 months now ( first 2 months twice a week. A month once a day, and last month twice a day as the dermatologist told me ( even if FDA only approved it three times a week)
The area got red, but no pain and the wart is still there. So I am not sure what to do now, if I can try another freezing session.
It has been 5 months now

Call back the forum. As you know from our previous interactions, I remain skeptical about your diagnosis or your suggested means of acquisition of infection. The lack of response to intensively used Aldara is also quite unusual. In addition to Aldara or freezing, warts may be removed with a biopsy or treated with laser or electrocautery. You should discuss other options for treatment with your doctors.
Having said that however, I continue believe to believe that this may well not be a genital wart and that even if it is you are devoting entirely too much time, effort, and emotional energy into addressing a problem which is of no meaningful consequence. EWH

Thank you doctor.
I am over my anxiety over it, I just want it to go away.
So it has been there for 5 months now, so if it is not a wart, what could it be?
But generally I am just trying to get it removed. I will discuss more options with my dermatologist next week.

I believe that the diagnosis is quite unclear. One thing which may favor a biopsy and with it, removal of the lesion, is that the specimen can be sent to a pathology laboratory for definitive diagnosis. EWH---
