[Question #8599] HSV1 Transmission

Hello,
Assume person 1 has oral HSV1, and person 2 has genital HSV1.
Can person 1 contract genital HSV1 from person 2 through sexual contact (genital to genital)? In other words, is person 1 protected from contracting genital HSV1 due their oral infection? Since person 1 already has oral HSV1, I am guessing there is some sort of antibody protection, but unsure as to if any protection and to what extent would exist in the gential area.
Thank you in advance, and I hope the question makes sense.

Once you have HSV 1 in one location on your body, it is extremely unlikely that someone would acquire HSV 1 in a new location. In all my years of practice, I have seen this only once. I hope this answers your question. If not, please let me know
