[Question #8689] Hiv possible used needle prick

Dear dr ,

I am a gay male . I recently went to a party :I met a guy there who told me he was hiv positive . He told me this when I had met him the last time .

However when I was at the party , my mid back started hurting a bit . When I saw it in the mirror the next day it looked like a raised bite or a boil .

My concern is what if this person injected inflected blood or pricked a needle in my back while I was at that party and I didn’t realise it then ?

Are there any chances of infection or cases like where people have been infected in this way ?

Request you to please help me . Thanks

If he injected you with his blood, you might get HIV.

But really?? Of course that didn't happen, and of course nobody has ever been infected with HIV in this manner. Have you ever heard of such a thing happening to yourself or anyone else? Why would someone do that? How could it happen without you knowing?

You have been warned several times in your many previous questions that repeated anxiety-driven questions are not permitted on the forum. There will be no discussion and future questions about events with obviously no risk of HIV will be deleted without reply. Do your best to move on without worry. And please condider professional counseling. Fears and thinking like this are not normal. Good luck.

HHH, MD
