Hi, Few questions I have on Herpes
1) Do you consider a value of 17.48 HSV 2 Igg test medium or very high? Do you recommend medication for such value?

2) Is it possible to have both HSV1 and HSV2 in the genitals?
3) Has any of your patients ever tested for both hsv1 and hsv2 on the mouth area?
4)Is it possible for someone to have hsv1 and then later catch hsv 2 in a separate location?

Your index value represents a longer standing infection and I don't rate it high or low, but if pushed I would say quite high.
There is no need to take antiviral medication UNLESS 1) you are bothered by frequent recurrences or 2) you are having sex with someone who is uninfected and you want to reduce the risk of infecting them.
It is possible to have both types in the genital area but really unusual.  The same is true for the oral area.
it is possible for someone to have HSV 1 and subsequently acquire HSV 2 in a new location, most certainly.
