[Question #8820] Oral saliva

I'm a male 38. I've had bad anxiety that has been treated like 5 years when I had an incident regarding oral. Took a awhile to get better. Never got any STDs. Read tons of comments. Now after years I've been tried to be careful. But now my anxiety has come back cause of this . So 2 weeks ago I have unprotected sex with my wife. We don't usually do it too much. The next day I went and got a hand job. Not worried about that. The day after I had protected sex for 2 mins. Didn't finish. I'm not too worried about protected sex. Reading your comments. She tried with her hand after for another min. I ended up leaving. The next day I had another hand job but this time she used some spit. I read a ton about it in the comments. But now about a week later I had this burning when urinating. That same day I drank no water and had more caffeine that I ever had from an bang energy drink. The urine was really concentrated. I drank a ton of water and everything seemed to go away. The day after that I drank a bunch of canffiene again. And it started to burn after I was done urinating. Drank a ton of water and everything seemed better. I would get a slight burning every once in awhile after I urinated. No discharge. The only time I saw something was right before I went to give a urine sample yesterday at urgent care. Saw a little bit of white that almost looked like cum. Anyways. The doctor gave me Cipro and it started to feel better within an hour. I didn't want to ask the doctor what he thought cause I figured he would say I could catch every std. Waiting for gonnoreha and clamidya results
1. What do you think it is? Normal bacteria that may have got in my urethra? Will Cipro be fine if my symptoms are going away?
2. What is carried in the saliva? I hear from your site that there is no way HIV can happen. Worried about having sex with my wife. This seem less of a risk than having direct oral sex from what I read
3. I've been reading a bunch of comments about NG

Welcome to our forum. Thanks for your questions. Thanks as well for acknowledging your struggles with anxiety. I will be happy to provide facts and information which I hope will help to address your concerns. Before I do however, a recommendation or two about dealing with your anxiety. First, I urge you to stay off the Internet with regards to risks and the exposures you described. The Internet is absolutely the wrong place for you to go for information. It is full of misinformation with statements that are misinterpretations or that are taken out of context, statements that are out of date, and urban myths regarding STI‘s and their transmission. It is the wrong place for you to get information. Second, your test results should be available in a day or two. When they are I urge you to believe them and if you have trouble accepting your results, then I urge you to return to counseling which I suspect is what helped you turn the corner previously. Now, let’s address your questions:
1. The activities you described - receipt of masturbation ( no matter what lubricant, including saliva, was used) and brief condom protected vaginal sex, are safe sex with virtually no meaningful risk of STI. Further, your symptoms are not suggestive of an STI. The discomfort on urination which is a manifestation of an STI tends to occur during urination but does not come and go and does not persist after urination. The possible discharge that you noticed was probably normal secretions. I expect that the symptoms you are describing may be due to either heightened awareness as you look for any possible symptoms and/or inflammation due to the trauma of repeated masturbation and self-examination. I anticipate that your test results will show that you do not have an STI and do not represent a danger to your wife.
2. Saliva does not transmit STI’s, including not only gonorrhea and chlamydia, but HIV as well. In fact, saliva have antibacterial properties which if anything make transmission of infection, in the unlikely circumstance that your partner was infected, unlikely. Please do not worry about the possibility of having exposed your wife. I anticipate that your test results will show that there is no infection present.
3. See my comments about the Internet above.
I hope the information and perspective I have provided it’s helpful to you. Please don’t worry. Please do not go down the rabbit hole of “what if” questions. Wait for your test results and believe them when they are available. Take care. EWH

Now that you mention it the repeated masterbation I've had and even in the past I had damaged my urethra and no one could find anything a long while back. I've been kicked by the kids a few times there also. Just crazy how your mind will give you symptoms at the perfect time. I think it was all the caffeine and no water and the hot sensation from urinating that probably triggered my anxiety a little bit this time otherwise I was fine and had no worries about my situation. Trying to keep my head on straight. Anyways. You pretty much said everything I thought you were going to say just directed to me since I purchased a question. I really like the part you say you have a better chance at being hit with a meteorite. Anxiety was a big struggle but one thing I did learn that once I got a hold of my anxiety all my other problems went away. Headaches. Stomach problems etc. I'm no where near the way I was back then. So I try not to worry til there's something to worry about. Thank you very much
