[Question #8881] HSV2 risk from protected sex with condom`

Hi, I just had sex with a stripper (who sleeps with many men) and i used a condom and only one time. I used a water based lubricant and towards the end of the session, she asked what was in the lube cause because she was starting to get irritation and that she has issues with latex and certain lubes, and that it makes her "breakout". That scared me and I asked what she meant by that and she said it had to do with her yeast/ph balance however it made me think she had herpes, although she had no bumps on her vagina that looked like herpes; additionally i had her take a shower with soap and she washed her privates thoroughly prior to sex.
I used a condom and tried to put it all the way down to my base but sometimes that area is not completely covered, I kept a watchful eye and don't think much, if any fluid got in contact there, except for the lubricant i used. 1.) what is the risk for HSV2 from this?
I already have HSV1 (via Igg and WB) and I also think i have it Genitally given my symptoms for so long now (have asked questions before). The lesions of GHSV1 are like glistening lines that feel like little cuts. They are not obvious but the pain is localized and I figured this is GHSV1 since that's the only thing I've tested for via blood test. I have these lesions at the base of my penis and the area where my shaft meets my testicles/scrotum (underside). 2.) Could this make me susceptible for HSV2 more?
She also mentioned that the doesn't use latex condoms and mentioned lambskin/natural condoms is what she uses (not sure if she meant non-latex in general) because of her allergies and I told her that those do not prevent STDs. Assuming that she's been ignorant and is more of a risk given these things, what's my risk? 3.) What about HIV? Her answers really scared me. Also, I took 1 gram of Valacyclovir prior (2/3 hours) and after sex for extra protection (if any).
Immediately after sex she went inside the shower to wash herself because of the intense irritation and shortly

(continued) after finishing, her irritation subsided. I don't know if it is herpes or her allergy to latex/lubrication. Please advise. Thank you.

Condoms reduce transmission from women to men by 65%.
Your description of your symptoms do not sound like herpes to me. But if you really want to know, you could have these lesions swab tested and see if your opinion is correct. If indeed these are herpes lesions and the skin is broken, that would make you a bit more vulnerable to acquisition of HSV 2.
it isn't correct that lambskin condoms don't protect against STD's. What is true is that they are conceptually less effective because of larger pores but they definitely are useful.
I don't think that the dose of valtrex that you took would do much to protect you, I'm afraid, but also, I think that your risk of a single encounter is insignificant.

"risk of a single encounter is significant." Did you mean insignificant??? Those same lesions I mentioned that I believe are GHSV1 started to act up intensely since the encounter. Can being exposed to someone with any herpes virus during sex trigger an outbreak? Assuming my lesions are ghsv1. I started to think this may be hsv2. Most places don't have PCR testing, only swab.
What about HVI risk from the base of my penis that has the lesions?

Being exposed to someone with herpes does not trigger an outbreak in someone else, no.
So sorry, I didn't see this.
When you say this is acting up intensely, what do you mean by that? What does that look like?
If you have open lesions on the penis, and had sex with someone who was HIV positive, then there is some risk of acquisition of HIV, yes.

It feels like burning, like little cuts. They look like glistening lines within a reddish rough patch.
I thought HIV needed to happen deep inside and not outside where it dies rather quickly. I've read posts on here and the old forum where they say it has to be through your urethra and that herpes makes it more likely but only through unprotected sex. I just wanted confirmation but now i don't know what to think.

The reason HSV 2 is a risk for HIV is because it opens a place on the tissues for virus to enter. Yes, of course, HIV can enter through the urethra, but that's not the issue with why HSV 2 is a risk. The cells that HIV prefers to infect are T cells, and those are the cells that migrate to the site of a herpes outbreak to defend against the virus.

Glistening lines in a reddish rough patch doesn't really sound like a herpes outbreak to me. And yes, insignificant, sorry for the typo
Recurrent outbreaks of genital HSV 1 are rare and if this is what you are identifying as outbreaks, I'm skeptical
