[Question #8884] Handjob / blowjob scare

Hello doctor

I went to a strip club and received a handjob from a stripper. In that process she also licked / kissed the shaft and scrotum as well. Thankfully, she seemed careful enough to not lick the head or to put it into her mouth but I imagine a small amount of her saliva may have touched the head. This whole act lasted less than 5 minutes and there were no vaginal contact or fluids involved. My questions are that for this exposure:

1) What is the risk of HIV along with Gonorrhea, Herpes, Chlamydia, Syphilis and Hepatitis

2) For any of the STDs with a risk, is testing warranted and if so, when after exposure?

Thank you for all you do!

Welcome to our forum. Thanks for your questions. I’ll be glad to comment.  This was a no risk encounter.  Most commercial sex workers, including strippers, did not have STI’s. Even when they do, no STI’s are transmitted through receipt of masturbation (hand jobs), or from having your genitalia licked, As long as your penis did not go in her mouth. Contact of the head of your penis with her saliva is a no risk event for all STI’s.

I see no reason for concern or for testing related to the event you have described.

I hope this information is helpful. If there are additional questions or any part of my response is unclear, please feel free to use your opted to follow ups for clarification. Please don’t worry. EWH
