[Question #8917] Question Again Regarding Handjobs

So I talked to a doctor at my local clinic today but he’s not my actual primary doctor he said that you can catch any and all STDs from a handjob. I know already asked this question already yesterday but I don’t even know who to believe anymore. He went to also say that you can catch any STD from a handjob but the risk would be low but it would not be 0. I just had a handjob recently from a masseuse at a massage parlor she had gloves on. The gloves were new in the box IM pretty sure and I don’t know if she touched herself but I doubt it. I got the handjob 1 week ago today exactly. Do I need to test for stds? Do I need to worry about stds and should I test for HIV?

Welcome back to the forum although I am sorry that you felt the need. The question is repetitive and the answer is not going to change. The doctor you spoke with is misinformed. Receipt of masturbation is a no risk event.  The CDC, the WHO, and other authoritative sources all agree that receipt of masturbation is safe, no risk sex.

My advice to you is unchanged. There is no medical or scientific reason for you to test for any STI, including HIV. Testing however is a personal choice and if you choose to use your time, energy, and resources to seek testing you obviously may do so. If you do, I am confident that the results will show that you were not infected. FYI, testing for the most common STI‘s such as gonorrhea and chlamydia would be entirely conclusive at this time. On the other hand, for conclusive results related to HIV, experts agree the test results are not conclusive until six weeks following an exposure.

I hope this message is helpful in providing you with reassurance. Please don’t worry. EWH

Oh ok thank you doc and also I don’t need to test for any stds if it was only a handjob right that I received from the Masseus? I don’t know why my doctor said that is there any reason as to why this topic is so controversial

Correct! Absolutely no reason for STI testing, including for HIV related to your receipt of masturbation from a masseuse. EWH---

Please be patient.  The site is not staffed around the clock.  Sometimes you may not get a response for 24 hours.

Final response.  Never, in my 40+ years of practice focused on STIs have I seen or heard of a person acquiring an STI, including HIV, from receipt of masturbation.

This concludes this thread.  No further questions on this topic please.  EWH
