Hello I have a couple questions regarding hsv orally .

1 how common is it
2 I have a little mark on my bottom lip after an oral exposure . Soy sauce and bourbon made it burn last night and I’m concerned , I looked hard at it but it really doesn’t look like much
3 if it is hsv2 orally , I heard it doesn’t shed or really come back , is that true?

4 if it is hsv2 , would it heal in 3 days

I'm not clear if you are asking about HSV 2 orally only?  I think you are.
It is very uncommon.  But for the few people who have it, it rarely recurs or is shed.
Do you have a history of cold sores?  Could it be there?
Herpes of either type is quite unlikely to heal in 3 days.  I'm wondering if it might be something completely unrelated to herpes?

I shaved that same day so I am wondering if I could of nicked my lip . Does herpes usually affect the middle of the lip or the skin on the border of lip . I saw no blisters . It doesn’t match the time line of the exposure also , the exposure was a month ago . I’m very confused and anxious

Herpes can infect both but more commonly it is seen on the edge of the lip.  When I get a cold sore, it is dead in the middle of my lip, so clearly it varies.  Given everything that you've told me, I think any other explanation - like shaving and nicking your lip - sound more likely than a first outbreak, a month later.
It's kind of hard to miss a lip outbreak - it would blister, then break open and ulcerate, then fill in or scab over.  That's just not what you are describing, right?

I guess what I’m trying to figure out and I think you answered it . That I have read hsv2 on genitals , a lot of times is overlooked or mistaken for something else but herpes on the lip is very recognizable and will follow the same pattern of blistering and scabbing and would not be mistaken for something else ? The thing I have on my lip feels weird but is not a blister and did not scab and really hasn’t changed much

well, people do get things on their lip that they might feel unclear about, that is true.  But thankfully, usually herpes does follow this particular pattern so it is easier to sort out what's what.  You certainly aren't the only person who has had something show up on their lip that makes them wonder about herpes.
