[Question #9008] Seeking peace but losing hope

I recently posted a question. I have since done  a lot of research on this forum.   I am starting counseling tonight.

April 21st I had sex with a girl using a condom, it was very brief.  I was scared because the day after I noticed Hpv warts.  I had warts previously and had them froze off.

On 5/8 I had thrush lesion.  Doctor confirmed.

I was tested using the alere rapid duo at  4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 11 weeks and 88 days.  All tests were negative.

I also tested negative using an Insti antibody test for 1/2.  Negative at 76 days post exposure.

I tested negative for hep c 85 days past exposure.

1.Here are my concerns.  I see several responses on the forums pertaining to when hiv2 testing is conclusive. They range between 6-12 weeks .  Please confirm what is true?

2. On July 11 or 12 I had another thrush lesion. This is  81 or 82 days post risk.  My doctor just cleaned it and I left.  Could this possibly be ARS if it was Hiv 1 or Hiv 2? Isn’t it to late for ARS?

3. On Thursday July 14 I had some additional cheek coating / thrush. This is 84 days post risk?  Could this be Ars? Isn’t it to late?

4. Today, (July 18)88 days post risk I had an alere rapid duo.  It was negative.  I know you usually say the test is positive a few days after symptoms. The test was 7 days after the first lesion and 4 days after the coating.  Is this the case even for hiv 2 since it’s found by antibody only?

5 .Does todays test eliminate that the thrush on July 11 or 12 (81 or 82 days post risk) &  the coating July 14 (84 days post risk) being HIV / ARS related?

6.  When are rapid antibody ONLY tests conclusive for BOTH hiv 1 & 2?

7. Is my negative rapid  hep c test at 85 days conclusive?

8. Can I sleep with my partner unprotected?

8. When you receive a finger stick for an hiv, hep c or diabetic test how long does it take to heal?  When is it safe to finger a female?

9. When you keep having medical issues but you test negative what should you do?  This seems like a common problem?

Repeating the closing comment from your previous thread:

Please note the forum rule against repeated anxiety driven questions on the same topic. ASHA does not want to collect fees for questions with obvious answers. Continuing such discussions tends to just trigger "yes but" or "what if" questions that tend to prolong anxiety rather than relieving it. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. Repeated questions are subject to being deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. Thank you for your understanding. I do hope the recent discussions have been helpful.

These additional questions are exactly the sort of thing that statement is meant to cover. I will answer these questions very succinctly and will then close this thread, with no opportunity for follow-up. The no reply/no refund policy will apply to any additional questions that reflect your anxieties about HIV.

1,6) The HIV antibody tests and the standard HIV 1/2 AbAb tests probably are conclusive for HIV2 by 6-8 weeks, but some experts recommend 12 weeks because of the uncertainty.
2,3,5) As you have been told repeatedly, your negative test results are 100% proof you do not have ARS, regardless of thrush or any other symptoms.
4) This result is conclusive.
7) Yes, conclusive.
8) Yes
8) The same as any other cut or wound, just a few days. Once healing starts (within a day or so), fingering is safe in regard to HIV and other blood borne infections.
9) Such a person should continue to work with their health care provider to judge the possible causes and management of the symptoms, knowing it isn't HIV. And to seek counseling and stick with that counselor. I hope it is true that you are about to start counseling about these irrational fears and your inability to understand or believe the reasoned, science based reassurance you have had repeatedly on this forum, and probably from your own doctors.

Goodbye and good luck to you.
