[Question #9025] Hep B Prevalence among FSW

I have a severe OCD condition that I am getting treatment for and doing much better. I know Dr. H asked me not to ask anymore questions about Hep B - but I was hoping that you could please make an exception for someone who values your expertise, the site you run to help people, and your kindness to answer a couple of simple question that I think will go a long way to helping me get over my past False positive HBcAB - as in 2013 I had a test where HBcAB, HBsAG, HBsAB all were negative. I trust that I am negative as Dr. H said I was - I have a different question to ask that I hope you all will have the kindness to answer. Was (2000-2013) or is the prevalence of HEP B positivity HBsAG significantly higher among Female Sex Workers than the general population? If the prevalence of Hep B for the US is less than 2% - would this % be much higher for FSWs? Do you have any idea what the prevalence be for FSWs in US? If you don't want to answer the question because its to similar to my other questions, I understand and consider my payment a donation to a good cause - but if you could answer it, I would be so grateful.

I'm so sorry to see you return to the Forum and that your obsession with Hepatitis B, based on a false positive test long, long ago continues to dominate your thoughts. There are no reliable data on the prevalence of hepatitis B among CSWs, now or years ago. Further, the prevalence among CSWs is irrelevant to your situation as you have proven that you do not, and have not had hepatitis B.
Repeating what Dr. Handsfield has told you before, there will be no further discussion here. Anxiety driven repeat questions are not permitted and typically are deleted without even this much reply, and without refund of the posting fee. Repeated answers tend to prolong anxiety rather than relieving it, especially when OCD is involved, because there always are "yes but" and "could I be the exception" sort of questions, which are unanswerable; we do not play that game. And such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main goals. Thanks for your understanding. Keep working with your OCD counselor or other responsible health care providers. That's where relief lies, not in yet another opinion from us (or any other expert) that you don't have it.
This thread will be closed now. EWH

thank you for responding I really appreciate it - so what you are saying is I don't need to worry about the accuracy of my second Hep B test because the sensitivity and specificity are high good enough that my second test is irrefutable proof that I am negative no mater what the prevalence is of Hep B in FSWs correct? I promise I will not ask any more questions on this and thank for your kindness in responding I apologize for asking - but the accuracy of the second test is what is scaring me...if you could just respond - I promise I will leave all of you alone and move on with my life.
