Hello doctors. I am a male i think I had a exposure to hiv in 1995 form ever since i have a cold i never get rid of. I have joint pain, chest pain body pain. About 14 years after that i get thrush on my tongue. Medication twice for the thrush still white. Had diarrhea, insomnia. Now after 27 years i lost 13 pounds soon as i eat belly hurt diarrhea. In 1995 after the incident i had a bad diarrhea doctor said it was ulcer. In 2017 same stomach issues went to gastroenterology tell me it was ibs. Now in 2022 my diarrhea worst lost 13 pounds. In 1998 i went to a doctor i did blood work. I called nim he told me something wrong with my blood. He was upset didn't tell me wht it was. I think it was hiv he never wanted to tell me. He told me to go see a next doctor. So in 2020 i decided to take a hiv test it was negative. I had over 13 hiv tests from 2020 to 2022 from different clinics and laboratory 6 4th generation laboratory hiv tests plus 7 rapid antibodies test also a pcr test all negative. Can the blood test i took in 1998 if it was hiv positive would these tests be positive also. Are did i waited too long to get tested. Could I be an elite controller or slow progressor so the test cant detect my hiv antibodies or viral load. I heard elite controller can lost their antibodies after awhile. Can i have hiv for 27 years without medication. I read that some elite controller tested negative on 4th generation laboratory test. Please help me doctor. I have all the symptoms of hiv yet all my hiv and WBC always good . My WBC in all the right range. I went to a cardiologist for my chest pain he saw nothing wrong. I had chest xray ct scan ultrasound on my stomach also only my liver a little fat. Can all this symptoms be hiv for over 27 years. Could I be an elite controller. Thanks doctor. Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your questions.  I'm sorry for your continuing problems, the majority of which appear to be impacting your GI tract.  The cause of these problems is NOT HIV, you can be confident of that.  Modern tests for HIV are among the most sensitive tests in all of medicine and your 13 tests of the past three years have tested for HIV antibodies, HIV protein (the antigen in the 4th generation tests) and RNA, thereby absolutely ruling out the possibility of HIV infection as the cause of your difficulties.  Typically an elite controller would be positive in all three types of tests and certainly would have been positive in at least on test.  Your are not an elite controller.  Whatever was wrong with your blood test back in 1995, it was not that you had HIV- of this I am sure.---

Thank you doctor Hook. So doctor i have cold symptoms from 1995 i never can get rid of since that day doctor. My thrush cant clear up with medication have thrush about 14 years now. Night sweats insomnia, pain all over my body from 1995. Every blood work always good. My finger nails half moon missing. Could i be an elite controller that the test not picking up my symptoms doctor. Its been 27 years now i cant pin point wht i have. Now my back is soar. My chest hurt i did a stress test it was good i did a echocardiogram it was good. My tsh level is good. I saw that some elite controller test negative with even the 4th generation laboratory hiv test. I just want to get over this problem i have having since 1995. Also could it be hiv2 doctor. Can i have hiv for over 27 years without medication and still living walking strong my lungs good.

Your follow up is in large part repetitive. If it is thrush that you have and not some other sort of chronic oral problem, this does not necessarily mean that you have HIV. Most people who get thrush do not have HIV.---

My ultrasound sound says increased in liver echogenicity probably on the basis of steatosis. No focal mass. WBC 6.60 RDC 4.75. Sedimentation rate 10, lactate dehydrogenase 171 all in normal range except the liver. Doctor why sometimes i have pain all over from 1995. Why this cold never get better. Can i have hiv all this years without getting sicker or dead without antibodies in my systems keeping me alive. Do elite controller get these types of sickness. Do elite controller get sick for so long without being detected by hiv tests. Do you know anyone with hiv over 27 years living without medication. One time my penis was hurting for awhile went to urologist did every tests nothing comes up. Now i feel the same pain in my penis after many years. Could it be hiv 2 and the tests missing it. Sigh, clearly you are not listening to my replies.  I cannot explain why you were having the symptoms you were having. I can however assure you that your symptoms are not due to HIV, either HIV-1 or HIV-2.   When symptoms are present in persons with HIV they are due either to the presence of the virus, or the host response fighting the presence of the virus.  For this reason when symptoms are due to HIV test for HIV are always positive.  Your tests have proven, incontrovertibly, that you do not have HIV.---
