I went to the cafe with my daughter. The waiter had razor cuts on his arm. but blood was not flowing.it was cut and red.. The waiter gave my daughter a karaoke microphone and a coke.my daughter sıng a song and drıng coke from glass. My daughter had no active bleeding wound..no active bleeding wound ın mouth .If my daughter has a wound on hands or touches her eye, has a wound on her lip and inside her mouth, will she catch HIV or hepatitis C in this way?The blood of the waitress may have come into the microphone or the glass. Is there a need for HIV test and hepatitis C test? . Thank you...I want to ask agaın pls you didn't answer me about hepatitis c....thanks dr.

t\This question, like your earlier question, describes a no risk event. HIV and hepatitis (both B and C) are transmitted through PENETRATIVE SEXUAL CONTACT or injection of infectious material DEEP into tissue. Touching, casual contacts, even in the setting of cuts or scrapes on one or both persons are virtually no risk events without a need for testing or concern. My sense is that you think that these infections are transmitted far more easily than is the case. Even with the sort of exposures which do have meaningful risk for infection associated with them, only a small proportion of exposures result in infection ((risk is less than 1% following direct exposure through sex or injection for HIV and hepatitis).

Cuts and scrapes quickly seal off preventing entrance of infectious material. In addition, When infected persons have cuts and scrapes, exposure to the environment with lower temperatures, lower humidity, etc. quickly makes viruses non-infectious. Experience with millions upon millions of individuals exposed to persons with cuts or scrapes and exposed to blood in the manner you described as not lead to infection.
I think that you believe that these viruses are more infectious than they really are. Please don’t worry. EWH

As I said above, "When infected persons have cuts and scrapes, exposure to the environment with lower temperatures, lower humidity, etc. quickly makes viruses non-infectious. Experience with millions upon millions of individuals exposed to persons with cuts or scrapes and exposed to blood in the manner you described as not lead to infection.". Thus your question was already answered. You do not know that this person had HIV or hepatitis C and even if they did, there would be no reason for concern of for testing.
