Pep
14 days post pep and my lymp nodes swole and a Lil pain it’s making me nervous!
Ok so I am 14 days post PEP
So basically I (M) 21 was dealing with this guy (M)26 orally since may and when we had sex we always used condoms, we started dating in June so I started to trust him more. We were staying with each other every night from June til July 15 at around 10pm we had sex raw due to not having any condoms he did not cum so the next day I got the urge to go get us both at home hiv test before we took them we had sex again I didn’t want to but he really wanted to and urge me to but I did because I wanted to please my “boyfriend”. which was weird but I didn’t think about it until after the whole situation and this time he did cum inside of me :( so we take the test right after and his came back positive so we rushed to the hospital and I tested negative and he tested positive. So I was prescribed Truvada and Isentress & took my medicine at the exact same time everyday might’ve been a minute late before but that’s it. I’ve been praying on the situation and doing all I can (take the medicine) and praying having faith. I hope that he was on art! But he keeps saying he didn’t know and I think the doctors would have told me if he was undetectable. I just wanted to share my story so that you all can get learn from it please use condoms! And if you have a partner go get checked with them! It’s not worth it. I received the pep within 36 hours from the 1st exposure and 12 hours from the 2nd exposure. Praying for the best I hope you guys can learn from this because I have!
Hopefully I am fine
So WHAT DO YOU THINK? Doctor.

Welcome to our Forum. Thanks for your questions as well as for your detailed descriptions of your situation.
There is no arguing that the unprotected anal exposure you had was relatively high risk and getting PEP was the right thing for you to do. Now that you have completed your PEP, it is time for you to be tested again, particularly if you are experiencing symptoms. Swollen lymph nodes are non-specific and have many possible causes, including HIV. Following PEP, testing with a 4th generation, combination HIV antigen/antibody test is recommended at 6 weeks after the last dose. By then those persons in whom PEP did not work would have positive tests. In addition, if symptoms occur, a person can test at that time- if the 4th generation test is negative, then the symptoms are almost certainly not due to HIV. In your case, I would recommend getting a 4th generation, combination HIV antigen/antibody test. If it is negative, your lymph node swelling is not due to HIV. Presuming your test is negative now, as I hope it is, you should repeat your testing 6 weeks after your last dose of PEP.
