Is it possible to have symptoms of Herpes everyday for 4 months without a breakout? Daily I have tingling, burning, itching, occasional lower abdomen discomfort. I have been tested for gonorrhea chlamydia HIV trichomoniasis hepatitis but came up negative. I had a IGG test for HSV 1 & 2 the test read 8 but the Doctor said he couldn’t determine if it was 1 or 2. I had another test HSV PCR 1 & 2 and it came out negative. I have had cold sores in the past. Please Help

It is extremely unlikely that herpes would cause you to have symptoms every day for four months. If your doctor for some reason is unable to order you a type specific IgG test for HSV 1 and 2, you can order that yourself on several websites - Quest Diagnostics, STDcheck.com. I think your doctor is just not familiar with how to order herpes antibody testes, which is a shame, but you may need to do this yourself. If you have cold sores, a combined test such as the one you had will not be helpful for you to know if you have genital infection or not.

If these persistent symptoms I am having don’t sound like herpes I wonder what it could be. I have what seems to be a rash … it doesn’t itch much but I do shave. Please help me out to what you think this problem is that I am having. I’ve been so exhausted trying to figure it out. I made a appointment to a Infectious Disease doctor Monday and another gynecologist next week. I know there is something wrong with me and I don’t want to give it to my partner

I think a dermatologist would be a good person to visit if the ID doc can't help you sort it out. There are many things that could cause a rash in the genital area. But I think you'll get this straightened out with a good exam from a professional. Please let me know the outcome of the exam.

The thing is, herpes symptoms don't last every day for four months. When you say every herpes symptom, are you taking about blisters that turn into ulcers that scab over and heal and they are continuous?

No I never spotted any Blisters within these 4 months I just keep having the stinging burning tingling itching soreness in my lower abdomen. All of these symptoms go and come everyday. Can you tell me what I should test for?

Those do not sound like herpes symptoms to me. Herpes does not cause lower abdominal symptoms. Now that you say these symptoms, I think would be best evaluated by and OB GYN. This could be many things but they would be in a far better position to evaluate what's going on here than I am. But this sounds nothing like herpes symptoms to me. We would be looking for sores in the genital area that come and go for herpes concerns. This is not to say for sure you don't have herpes - you could certainly have herpes and have some of these symptoms but by themselves, what you list, I would doubt it.
