Thanks for your question.  I will provide some facts which I hope you will find helpful.

1.  If your partner had HIV  and was not on treatment and you did not use a condom, your risk for getting HIV would be, on average, 1 infection per every 1000 acts of vaginal intercourse.

2. If your sex partner has HIV and is on effective treatment (usually people take another drug in addition to Truvada) this greatly reduces her ability to infect you. 

3.  If you wore a condom throughout the intercourse and it did not obviously break (condoms do not lead a little, when they fail, they break wide open), you were using the most effective means of protection there is for prevention of HIV transmission.

Despite all of this, the most conservative thing you could do to eliminate your risk for infection is to take PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis, not PrEP which is Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis.  this is a personal decision which only you could make.  The medications given for PEP are sometimes expensive and less than half of people who take PEP complete their medications however, when used properly, PEP is highly effective.  If you choose to take PEP, the sooner you begin it, the more effective it is and there is no benefit to starting PEP more than 72 hours after exposure.

Again, I would tell you that the decision is up to you.  Safest to take the PEP BUT if you do not think you can obtain it or will not be able to take it for the entire 30 day period, then I would not.  EWH

If you only had sex with her once, if you used a condom, and if she is on treatment, then your risk for infection is less than 1 in 100,00 (very low) but there is still a very small risk for infection.  EWH
