Dear doc,
Had receptive anal with a trans escort in bangkok . Lasted 3 mins and the escort removed the condom and ejaculated on my body. This was less than 72 hrs ago with protection. Unprotected receptive and insertive oral. She had told me she was tested regularly . Went to doc this morn and was provided with pep one month dosage. Was told to come back in 2 weeks for other std tests .  May I know the chances of hiv as I’m freaking out

Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your questions.  I’ll be glad to comment.  I’m glad to hear that you used a condom for the receptive portion of the encounter as that was the riskiest exposure.  That your partner ejaculated on your body does not pose a risk, even if she was infected.  There is no known risk to receipt of oral sex and the risk of infection from performing oral sex on an infected, untreated partner is less than 1 infection in more than 10,000 encounters.  To be honest, I’m not sure that you needed PEP but now that you’ve started, you might as well continue.

As far as other STIs, you can test exposed sites ( your throat, penis and rectum) for Gonorrhea and chlamydia now. Testing for syphilis should wait for at least a month.

Overall you risk for HIV from this encounter is minuscule.  I would not worry. EWH

Thanks doc for that. I’m just beside myself with worry on the chance I may have contracted it. I’m on my 3rd day of pep now and can I know if  testing again a month after the end of my pep dosage will give me a conclusive result?

As I said, your risk from the events you describe is miniscule.  When you test a month after completion of PEP, your results will be conclusive.  Please don't worry- when you test, I am confident your tests will be negative, proving that you were not infected.  EWH---
