Hello doc. I had an exposure with an older female (55+) on 10/19/2022. I gave her cunninglus for 2 minutes and she gave me oral until finish. First week I experience ulcers inside mouth and inside lip. I develop a red streaks on uvula and sore throat that didn’t bother me much . I developed a dry mouth and tingling nose and lips the following week, I went to urgent care the same week and doc gave me azythromcin for the sore throat. That same day  I only took the first 2 pills and my heart started racing/dull pain on chest area(abx side effect) I stopped. the end of the second week I was only worrying about the chest pain and heart rate mostly, I developed diarrhea(lasted 4 weeks) and burning mouth, roof of mouth irritation that include the back of throat before the  tonsils but not exactly there it basically red area that looked like little cuts that sting. I had general check up and it showed urobilonogen and bilirubin high and alkaline phosphate high and egfr high aswell . Before week 3 I was developing a white small thing that looked like OHL/raised tasted buds on the side of tongue they sting and feel irritated , under tongue aswell and dry . Week 3, eye pain felt like poppin out from socket. That’s how it felt they also felt dry. Hip area pain and pain in the back neck , knees, couldn’t sleep on the sides even till now . I started noticing weight loss on week  3 about 8 lbs. I kept eating abut the weight loss was wining kept losing more lbs. week 5 I had unprotected sex with wife :(. She kept complaining about really dry mouth 6 days after sex.I got really scared still am. Week 6, I noticed I had a rash(Intertrigo) close to anus and just two inches below scrotum. Rash looks wet and  gets itchy and stings, the rash continues all the way through the sides of thighs but sides of thighs seems more dry and stings when sweaty and not really wet there.  also today (1/8/2022) to get tested at plan parenthood via finger prick that took 20 minutes.it came out Negative! I’m very happy with the results. The only bothering is that no one In the medhelp forum and this forum had any symptoms identical to mine or close. The symptoms that bothered the most is the Burning mouth syndrome, the corrugated tongue, the white patches that look like OHL on the side of tongue (they don’t scrape) . The little dots (looks like pimples) on the soft palate. Mouth is extremely dry 24/7, sometimes if eat some acidic food or spicy  my tongue gets irritated. Also my lips feel are super dry and the corners feel like angular chelitis. And the Intertrigo below my scrotum and anus and between thighs. All of this has not gone away. The PA at plan parenthood said that hiv symptoms are non specific but the symptoms that I have are definitely something not things I’m making up or hightend senses .do you think I may turn positive based on the weird symptoms and timing? The ulcers I had were inside mouth under lip. The ulcers were more like canker sores and herptic sores really  small and shaped weird not like typical canker  inside cheeks aswell. 

Hello Doc, I’m back. About a 1.5 weeks ago I tested via online service called Everlywell. They sent a paper/card where I had to add some blood droplets and I sent it back. I’m not sure they send it to quest diagnostics or not. It says online the test is for hiv 1/2 and p24 antigen + antibody. The results came back negative. I had to tell my wife about the incident so she went to plan parenthood and got tested today and results were negative. I'm glad to hear your HIV test is negative, but of course not surprised. As I said above, you were at no risk of HIV from the exposure described. Most important, your HIV test result proves your symptoms are not due to HIV. It isn't the virus that causes symptoms, but the immune response to the virus, and antibody is part of the immune response. Therefore, it is not possible to have HIV symptoms with a negative antibody test.---

Dear Doc,  can you help with my unanswered concerns? im left with lingering symptoms even after my negative test. I’m really concerned. The intertrigo between inner thighs and below scrotum and anus remains. I know intertrigo can be caused by fungus, bacteria and could be viral. Now if the intertrigo was viral does it mean it goes away or it stays indefinitely? The second thing that remains is the constant dry mouth and burning mouth syndrome. This includes the stinging tongue when eating acidic or spicy foods. The feeling of dry/burning corners or lips but nothing is there no Red or scabbing or anything. The off white leukoplakia on the left side of the tongue. The irritation on the (palatoglossal arch) of mouth. Im just scared because it basically screams hiv. I never had any of those symptoms prior to exposure. Can you help my mind at the ease doctor. Thank you, once again. 

This question repeats the previous one and the answers of course are the same: your symptoms do not suggest HIV, and test results overrule symptoms. Your negative test result proves they aren't caused by HIV. I also advised that we do not attempt to evaluate or advise about symptoms not due to STDs or HIV, and that you need to see a doctor in person to figure it out.---
