[Question #9565] Protected Sex - Blood

Hello Doctor,

I was hoping that i won't return again to the forum with questions but here we are.

I have had an encounter with an escort who advertises online in USA Texas, she was a 20 years old Caucasian, she looked healthy, quite slim but healthy otherwise, she gave me a brief protected oral followed by about 10 minutes of protected vaginal intercourse. I stopped at some point because I realize there were streaks of blood on the condom, I removed it and checked if the inside of the condom had any of the blood and it didn't seem like it.

I realize this is a no risk exposure due to the protection but I only got a bit worried because she said before advertising online, she used to work in the streets but she said she stopped and now does this online only on the side of her daily job. Again, she looked healthy and her gentiles looked quite normal as well.

My question is, was this a safe encounter or do I need to be worried ?

Thank you in advance.

Welcome back and thanks for your continued confidence in our services.

However, I'm a bit surprised you felt the need to return:  the answer to this question is obvious from the discussion we had in your previous question just two months ago. As I advised then, blood exposure during sex does not elevate the risk of HIV or other STDs compared with exposure to sexual fluids alone. And since you say you "realize this is a no risk exposure due to the protection", it seems obvious you know that an intact condom provides complete protection. So even if your partner has HIV, this was indeed a safe encounter. You should not be worried and I would not advise testing for HIV or other STDs.

I hope this response is helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.
