[Question #9602] HIV phobia

Hello doctors , I have some questions regarding HIV transmission. I went to the strip in NY , where i got few intensive lap dance with 6 girls each for 20 min max.
I had my pants on the entire time. During the grinding, I can’t be sure if there was any fluid but I don’t recall when I inspected my pants, when I got home I did see some pre-cum in my underwear after 4-5 days later I had oral thrush wear I see white skin under tough peeling, plus I got blisters in my lower lip with no pain or anything my lips was super dry wear I kept licking it right away I felt blisters formed without pain next day scabbed almost healing , I never experienced anything like this . I also wanted to let you guys now if this have anything to (Ecstasy pill) , which I chewed like an idiot. Do I need HIV testing? I am freaking out for every little sign and symptom.

Welcome back to the forum. Thanks for your continued confidence in our services.
I reviewed your recent discussion with Dr. Hook and agree with all he said. As for your current question, I'm not sure I can help very much. The title you chose ("HIV phobia") probably says it all. By definition, a phobia is an irrational fear, i.e. one without basis in fact or true risk. Also by definition, phobias are not much helped by hearing the facts of the case. Probably you know (intellectually if not emotionally) that HIV cannot be transmitted sexually except by intercourse. All other kinds of contact with body fluids, especially through clothing, are entirely free of risk. There is no possibility you acquired HIV, or that the problem with your lips has anything to do with HIV. It also is not the result of any other infection from your strip club adventure. (I cannot say whether or not it is connected with the Ecstasy pill.)
You do not need testing for HIV. It is not rational to be "freaking out for every little sign and symptom"; all this is part of your phobia, not any other medical problem of importance. If you continue to be so fearful despite expert, reasoned, science-based advice, you should consider professional counseling.
I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you Doctor Handsfield, Greatly appreciated your response, I been getting testing from October 2022 - January 2023 All (None) reactive . My last test was January 8, 2023 theses few months has been to most stressful time of my life .I would like to know when you say body fluids would be risk free even if it seep through my pants where my urethra is still exposed and grinding lasting for sometime. am I still risk free ,also can oral thrush or any symptoms appear in 7 days .. I have a wife she getting annoyed again by this new fear . . I am sorry for being irrational .

You seem to think that any body fluid contact is a risk for HIV. It is NOT risky except by sex. Your wife is justified in being annoyed. You never needed any HIV tests and you must stop doing it, for your own mental health and your wife's.---

Ok Doc, I Believe I had no risk , what’s bothering me is that I have a white spot under my tongue and the sides which I can’t brush it off, where I realize it 3-7 days which keep worrying me, I am not sure if it was there before , Specially in the morning, I’m not sure if that’s normal, Can it be (Leukoplakia) ? Are my signs too early for ARS? That’s all Doc
Your response is greatly appreciated.

As we have discussed, it is not possible you have HIV; and this would never be the only symptom of ARS. There are many other possible causes. One of them is called lichen plants, which causes grayish-lavender streaks inside the mouth. You can google it for photos to see how it compares. (LP is harmless.) See your doctor if you remain concerned about it.
That completes the two follow-up exchanges included with each question and so ends this thread. I hope the discussion has been helpful and you can move on without worry. For goodness' sake, stop having HIV tests until and unless you start having unprotected sex with persons other than your wife. (Strip club contacts do not count if there is no intercourse!)
Best wishes and stay safe.
