[Question #9700] Oral sex symptoms
|
40yr old male
Received oral sex from female for approximately 1-2 min max with no completion in September. No symptoms that made me think of a potential issue.
Wife complains of internal vaginal itching but only prior to menstruation. Anti fungal clears it up. Happens the next month again and goes to OB. Exam and lab test of cells show no bacteria. No itching has come back. Ob banks on dryness with age during period cycle. This sends me into an anxious state and cpps symptoms from the past return, mainly pain in the pelvic area, lower abdomen, Perenium and thighs.
2/21 I notice a few small white spots in my underwear. I look all the time and there hasn’t been during this time. No visible discharge, no pain on urination. I assume pre ejaculate maybe but didn’t experience excitement today. There have been no increased spots throughout the day.
Do I assume this is unrelated and natural or a bigger issue? If it were an issue from September would the body have cleared it by now? Or could I be volleying something back and forth with wife? Thank you.

Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your questions. I’ll be glad to comment. Receipt of oral sex is a relatively low risk exposure for acquisition of STIs although infections can be transmitted in this manner. The most common infection acquired in this manner is Gonorrhea although chlamydia can rarely be acquired in this manner. Both infections can be asymptomatic but this is uncommon for Gonorrhea. For an STI to linger without symptoms for four months would be unusual and the brevity of your exposure makes your risk lower still. I would not be worried about STI here.
That said, neither your wife’s or your symptoms suggest any STI and you acknowledge that your symptoms resemble those of your CPPS. I have almost no concern that either your or your wife’s symptoms are related to an STI acquired from your receipt of oral sex more than four months ago. I’d urge you to put your concerns aside and look for non-STI causes of your wife’s symptoms. EWH
