[Question #9744] massage risks now itching

Good Day
came across this very helpful forum as it is new to me. I recently visited a massage parlor for a naked body to body massage.
this was a lapse in judgement a major one as i am married.

I did not have any oral sex or vaginal sex. my concern is 7 days later i have started to feel a mild itch on my pubic hair randomly off and on - but nothing major. could this be crabs or syphilis. I am unshaven, but the attendant was shaved. I checked my self and did not see any eggs is what i read online. i maybe a bit more attentive? not sure though if i should be alarmed.

What is my risk level for all stds.Should i get tested.

is it ok to proceed sex with my regular partner without putting her at any risk. I dont want to give her an STD because of my ignorance and stupidity.

Welcome. Thanks for your question. I'm glad you've found the forum helpful even before asking your question!

First, massage never is a risk for any STD (not counting those with a sexual component, i.e. "happy endings" and so on). I guess naked body rubbing comes close, but still there is little or no risk without penile penetration. Second, no STD is a likely cause of pubic area itching. For sure it isn't syphilis, which doesn't cause such a problem.

Your mention of pubic lice (crabs) in theory might be possible, but most infested persons can easily see nits (lice eggs, whitish granules adhering to pubic hairs) or the critters themselves. Of course if you notice anything, you can treat yourself; effective over-the-counter products are available. However, I see no need for any other sort of STD testing; and if somehow I were in your situation, I would continue sex with my wife without worry. (And by the way, had your massage partner shaved her pubic area? If so, the chance of pubic lice is dramatically lower than otherwise. The frequency of pubic lice has dramatically fallen in the past 15-20 years in populations where pubic shaving has become the norm.

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you

She was shaved fully. it is only me who is unshaven. I did check my pubic hair and did not notice anything - would it be noticeable much like dandruff is?

I dont feel the itch when i am walking around or moderately active rather only when i am sitting which makes me wonder if it is my being overly on guard.

So i can feel safe that this is not necessarily crabs or an STD especially if I continue to not see any eggs as you mentioned.

thanks

With a fully shaved partner, the chance she had pubic lice is nil. And yes indeed:  being especially attentive to possible symptoms ("overly on guard") certainly could contribute to increased awareness of trivial symptoms or even normal body sensations that otherwise you would disregard or maybe not even notice. Yes, you definitely can feel safe you do not have crabs or any other STD.---
