[Question #9747] Risk of receiving unprotected oral?

Hi there dr's i hope you are well. Unfortunately im back again from a different incident from my last one i asked you's about back last August in which i thought a condom broke while i was with a female csw. I got a litany of screening/tests in the months after that ( as i was very unwell) which were all clear & fine.. & i vowed never to have insertive vaginal sex at all again with a csw incase a condom was to break i thought its Just not worth the hassle.. So anyway a few days ago on the 8th of March i went to an Asian massage parlour with intention of a massage & hand job but the lady decided during the handjob to do unprotected oral on my penis for 2 or 3 mins then i told myself to tell her to stop as i didn't ask for that. I asked her to stick her tongue out which looked in perfect condition as were the outside of her lips. I never asked to pull her lip down or up to inspect her gums or teeth. The next day i got a runny nose & chills, the following day same symptoms but abit worse then yesterday & last night & today i have a stuffed up nose, which then runs, & abit of phlegm & abit of sweats .. I'd imagine this is just a regular cold as it come on very soon after this BJ incident. As soon as i returned home from this lady ( less than an hr after the incident) i took amoxicillin as i thought it may prevent any infection, i took 3 tablets a day at 500mg for 3 days.. I stopped them yesterday, I still have amoxicillin here but i thought maybe its not even needed for me to be taking them what do you's think i should do here? Many thanks Mac.

This massage parlour lady was from hong kong btw she told me, i dunno if thats relevant or not.. She didn't speak great English.. & i think these ladies move around abit to different locations. I read that for receiving oral ( her mouth on my penis) its very low risk for all sti's/stds i read hiv isn't really a viable thing to be worried about?? I took the amoxicillin to potentially prevent a case of goneahrea or clamidia or syphilis taking place would this have worked as i say i started this 3 day course within an hour of receipt of this oral?

Welcome back to the forum. Thanks for your questions.
You are correct, receipt of oral sex is very low risk for acquisition of any STI. Of the STIs that a person can get, gonorrhea, while rare, does occasionally occur. There is almost no risk for chlamydia or syphilis and no one has ever gotten HIV from receiving oral sex.
Your symptoms began too soon to be an STI related to the encounter you described. No STIs cause symptoms until at least 2-3 days after sex and the symptoms you describe do not suggest an STI.
Personally, unless you develop STI symptoms, I would not be worried. I hope this information is helpful. EWH

Thank you for you're response Dr just thought I'd ask as the anxiety kicked in again last night..I haven't really noticed any symptoms with regards to my penis although i did pass urine today & it did feel abit like burning but maybe that was just a one off coincidence...I'll just keep an eye on myself certainly no discharge or anything at the moment. I'm trying not to think about it to much as it brings me down abit with anxiety.. As i say i dunno what happened to me in the other incident last August but i was in bad shape for months & done so many tests.. Not just for sexual infection but all things including tested twice for htlv which was clear on both occasions. All the dr's could find back then was raised crp protein a few times.. Ive gotten better since then but I've had raised glands in the back of my legs behind my knees since then which have remained up & have dr's abit baffled.. One dr could see i wasn't well but said it was a mystery as blood work looked ok apart from the slightly raised crp protein which seemed to fluctuate & rise & fall quite quickly. I can be abit of an anxious stressed type of person to be honest & in the past i did contact lyme disease from a tick bite which i took a considerable amount of antibiotics for.
So in a nutshell & to conclude you say there is no need for testing unless i develop symptoms? Also one more question i have.. would them 3 days of amoxicillin i took ( 1500mg a day) potentially have stopped anything like gonarhea, syphilis, clyamdia from manifesting? As i say i still have amoxicillin here but chances are like you say i more than likely never got any sti from this incident.. Would you recommend to stop taking them now or maybe continue for another couple of days to be on the safe side or would 3 days worth been enough to knock out a potential infection given how quick i took them after the event? Thank you

I’m glad my comments were helpful. You are correct, I see no need for testing related to the encounter you described.
I’d suggest that you stop the amoxicillin now. Infections are easier to prevent than to cure once established and any benefit from the amoxicillin would have been complete by now.
