[Question #9767] Herpes 2

I could not reply to my last question so here is the follow up. I had 2 blisters and the doctor said it was suggestive of herpes. He did not swab them or blood test me. I know you said visual expectations or not always correct. It was 2 blisters that look very much like the pictures I see online. 4 years ago I had a fiancée who has HSV on her vagina and she was on daily anti virals. She took a hem everyday. I could be wrong though. When we were together she never had visible outbreaks. We broke up February 2021. In my two years with her I never had a blister, rash, etc. 2 years after we broke up I get these 2 blisters. I was given anti vitals but the blisters disappeared 5 days later on their own. I have been under a lot of work stress and my body feels run down and maybe that’s why I got an outbreak but for the past two years I’ve been stressed a bunch of times. I’ve lost my job and I’ve had Covid and I never had an outbreak. Why would it take so long for it to pop up and if my outbreak is so mild is that a good indicator that maybe it will always be mild. I know my ex had genital herpes but I do not know if it was HSV1 or HSV2 down there. Does it make a difference. I heard that before outbreaks you get a itch and a tingle sensation in your genitals and I’m starting to feel that but I’m also a hypochondriac and I might just be every focused in that area if my body. I’m sorry for a long post I’m just still navigating through this. Last question if I explore my bisexuality and I get penetrated anally and the person uses a condom, even though my outbreak was on my penis would the person run a risk? I’m a 37 year old male. My ex girlfriend was 26 and she was diagnosed at 18.

thanks for the additional history about your situation.  I do remember your previous post.
People can go for years with herpes and not have an outbreak or a recognized outbreak, that's actually not uncommon.  But this doesn't tell us that these blisters were herpes.  As I recall, you had some masturbation that might be have been the source.  I believe I suggested to you that you consider getting an IgG test to try to sort this out.  I hear that you lost your job and finances might be challenging right now but this test, you can order from Quest or labCorp on your own, without seeing a provider.
While some people get an itch or tingle before an outbreak, many of the people I talk to have an itch or tingle and test negative on the western blot so I don't see that as very helpful in deciding what this it.
If you have anal sex with you bottom, and the person uses a condom, the risk if very low for them to contract herpes from your anus, but people who have only genital lesions do shed virus from the anus as well.
