[Question #9874] Can I ask a generic question?

Hello Doctor. My last thread was closed, but I purchased a new hoping you can answer a generic question that is difficult to find an answer on. If you would, I think it has value to me and many others. If not, I will ask for a refund.

The thread was closed because your questions were repetitive and had been answered in the past.  If you have a new question which does not repeat your prior questions answered in your 6 prior visits to the site, you may ask.  If the question repeats topics previously covered, this will be pointed out and the thread closed without return of your fee.  My suspicion is that your question will be repetitive and therefore my advice is to request a refund.  EWH---

The questions are:
I understand that the NAA tests look for antigens in. Specimen and/or genetic material, is that correct?

With that said, these are just generic questions:
1) if a person has been taking an antibiotic for two weeks or more after exposure, and test WHILE taking the antibiotic, how does that affect test performance?
2)From the research I’ve read, one can relax if they have a negative result, but if turned out positive, one would not know if it was completely cured or not(could still detect dead bacteria, )and then would have to retest again. Is that correct?

3) all in all, can antibiotics cause a false negative. That’s all I need to ask. That’s it

These are "back door repetitive questions with a twist, basically seeking the same information you asked about previously.

NAAT tests test for genetic material from infecting organisms.  If the organism is there, whether effected by antibiotics or not, the test will be positive.  A negative test is definitive evidence that a person is not infected.  This
1.  See above
2. Correct.
3. No

No repetitive questions

Hello Dr Hook. Clarification:  I ended up having a repeat Gon/Chlamydia/trich test last week. It was essentially 26 days after exposure and without any antibiotics for 3 days. At the time of testing I was still having groin discomfort It again was negative for all three.   My Doctor then rx’d cipro 500mg/bid for 10 days(on day 5 now)and everything ihas essentially resolved.
1)can the NAAT urine tests miss infection in the timeframe I have taken them?
2)is an actual culture any better?
3)could have I just got a bacterial infection(but not those tested for)from all the saliva that now cipro has mostly cleared?
4)after 5 days of cipro still infectious with sex?
5)refrain from sex for the whole 10 days of treatment?
6)can you please tell me why cipro may have worked better than the injections of Rocephin (500 and 1gram) or the doxycycline 100 bid x 14 days?
7) can I I totally put this to rest?
Thank you
