[Question #9883] Receiving Oral Sex

I am a male, I recently (3 days ago) received oral sex for a short period of time from a massage worker.
Not that it’s important, but this was not my intention, I had only expected a hand job…but here we are.

My question is, what is the likelihood/odds of STI transmission from receiving oral sex? I’m particularly worried about HSV-1 and/or HSV-2.  I have OCD and have been deeply anxious about this ever since.

I have felt sensitivity and odd sensations on my penis over the last few days, which could be a product of anxiety or perhaps jock itch, as I have worn a wet bathing suit several times over the last few days.

Some more information: I have never had cold sores and have tested negative about a year ago for HSV 1 and HSV 2.

The risk from receiving oral sex is HSV 1, not HSV 2.  Though HSV 2 can be found orally, that is rare and when it does live orally, it rarely recurs or shed.
Have you had any symptoms of sores on your penis or any unexplained breaks in the penis skin?
You should casually observe your penis (not obsessively if you can avoid it) for the next week.  If you don't notice any symptoms by the end of the week, I think you are in the clear.  That gives you 10 days from the encounter.  Odd sensations don't count.  I'm looking for skin changes.

Thanks for your response.
What is the likelihood of STD transmission for receptive oral sex?  Are there any other symptoms I should realistically be on the lookout for?

I am having what I feel to be sporadic psychosomatic symptoms where I feel pain or discomfort in my urethra.  It doesn’t hurt to urinate.  Like I mentioned I have OCD and have been known to manifest symptom in the past.

Should I get tested, and if so…how long should I wait?

As far as sores or breaks in the skin on my penis, I have not seen any.  There are two small white spots that I believe are ingrown hairs, existing prior to the event a few days ago.  They are painless.

Like I mentioned in the original question I have had some generalized redness and sensitivity on my penis and scrotum, may be jock itch from a bathing suit?

The risk of you getting an STI from receiving oral sex is low but not zero.  You should be looking for discharge, pain with urination and sores.  If you develop any of these symptoms, you should be tested but be aware that there are false positives on the herpes antibody test so unless you develop sores in the genital area, I would discourage you from being tested for HSV
