[Question #9994] Std from fingering (cuts on fingers)

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

Earlier today I attended a massage parlor and I engaged in mutual masturbation with the masseuse. I'm not worried about being given a hand job and I wouldn't be worried about the fingering if it wasn't because I have been dealing with very dry hands from eczema which has cause some cuts on my fingers. My fingers never went in. I just stimulated the outer part of her vagina and even though the cuts are not right-out bleeding, they are still healing (some redness and soreness on contact). I could feel her vagina getting moist and I worry that I could have got something. There was not vaginal, anal or oral sex involved whatsoever. What are the chances of having caught any STD given this scenario? Any need for testing?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your confidence in our services.

You needn't worry at all. While an open wound in theory might slightly raise the possibility, fingering or other hand-genital contact has never been known to result in any STD, or so rarely that the risk can be ignored. There might be slightly higher risk of non-STD infections, like staph, strep, etc, but even this is extremely unlikely. If in the next few days you develop increased inflammation in the area of the wounds (a pimple-like lesion, for example), see a doctor to be safe. Without that happening, I do not recommend testing for anything. If you have a regular sex partner, you can safely continue your usual sexual contacts without worry of transmitting any STD.

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.
